         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>I was reported to Genting Malaysia Berhad, Pahang as a trainee.</p></li><li><p>Reporting day is done at 10.00 am at the HR department. I and my fellow interns were welcomed by Madam Nuri who holds the position of human resources in Genting Malaysia Berhad. </p></li><li><p>After the reporting day was over, I was given a staff ID and I was also given the key to the hostel where I will stay during my industrial training here.</p></li><li><p>Next, Madam Nuri showed me the way to go to the laundry, to the gym, to the clinic and to the cafe. After the afternoon, our last session was a briefing session about Genting Malaysia Berhad with the Assistant Vice President Manpower of Genting Malaysia Berhad, Miss TYT.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>On the second day, we were picked up by the Resort Hotel Supervisor, Miss Ayuni at the HR department. Before that, we went to pick up our uniforms before going to our department.</p></li><li><p>Upon our arrival at the Resort Hotel Housekeeping Department office, we introduced ourselves to the Housekeeper and our line of Assistant Housekeepers. They welcomed us well and gave us some words of advice.</p></li><li><p>Other than that, we were given a job position briefing while we were in the housekeeping department. We have been explained in depth about the housekeeping department in detail, which is the number of hotels we have, the types of rooms available, the services the hotel provides, the facilities available and so on.</p></li><li><p>We were also told the duration of each job given to us. For example, housekeeping for ten days, houseman for five days, office linen keeper for eight days, linen keeper for four days and supervisor for fifty-five days until the end of industrial training.</p><p><br></p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>We received training for the first job, housekeeping, on the third day. For five days we will clean four rooms and will do one room thorough cleaning. For the next five days we will clean for eight rooms which are we have to do a thorough cleaning, and clean the vacant dirty and occupied dirty rooms normally.</p></li><li><p>We were also shown how to clean the room completely by our trainee supervisor. It includes things like how to clean toilets and guest rooms safely and neatly, and how to ring the bell following the correct procedures. Following that, we were also shown how to thoroughly clean the room by doing thorough cleaning.</p></li><li><p>Finally, after finishing the housekeeping task we have to pack the trolley before leaving the store and this is a mandatory thing for all housekeeping maids to do. We were also taught how to arrange face tissue, toilet roll, slippers, linen, coffee &amp; tea, shower cap, toothbrush, mineral water and so on. Furthermore, materials for chemicals need to be placed separately in other compartments.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>On our first day of work as housekeeping, we had four rooms to clean between the hours of 9am until 5pm. </p></li><li><p>On the first day, we have to clean 4 check-out rooms which are called as (vacant dirty) that day and 1 thorough cleaning. Next, the first thing I need to do as taught by my trainee supervisor is to open the windows and curtains first so that the smelly air and dust come out. Next, we need to make sure the safebox is free of guest's valuables and dispose of the trash first.</p></li><li><p> After that, we need to open and dispose of all linens such as pillowcases, sheets, duvet covers, bath towels, hand towels and bath mats. Furthermore, we need to tidy up and wash clockwise from the bedroom to the bathroom to speed up our work.</p></li><li><p>Look for any forgotten visitor belongings in each room. If so, we must snap a photo and post it to the "Lost and Found" Whatsapp group. We must inspect every room to make sure there is no harm while we are cleaning the space. If so, we must share it in the "Defect items" Whatsapp group.</p></li><li><p>We must report lost or damaged items in the Whatsapp group "Lost and Damage Items" in order to avoid legal action. If any hotel items are misplaced, we must contact the "Houseman" group so that they may deliver the items to us and they will replace them. Following all of that, we may begin cleaning and washing the bathroom and room in order to replace all of the linens, including the bath towels, hand towels, bath mats, bed sheets, and pillowcases.</p></li><li><p>We must vacuum every floor, from the bedroom corner to the bathroom corner, once the room and toilet have been well cleaned. </p></li><li><p>The final step is to replace all the amenities that guests need, such face tissue, toilet roll, coffee and tea, sugar, creamer, toothbrush, and so on, with new ones.</p></li><li><p>Honestly, I cried during my first day as a housekeeping. Next, we need to make sure the safebox is free of guest's valuables and dispose of the trash first.</p></li><li><p>After that, we need to open and dispose of all linens such as pillowcases, sheets, duvet covers, bath towels, hand towels and bath mats. Furthermore, we need to tidy up and wash clockwise from the bedroom to the bathroom to speed up our work.</p></li><li><p>Look for any forgotten guest belongings in each room. If so, we must snap a photo and post it to the "Lost and Found" Whatsapp group. We must inspect every room to make sure there is no harm while we are cleaning the space. If so, we must share it in the "Defect items" Whatsapp group.</p></li><li><p>We must report lost or damaged items in the Whatsapp group "Lost and Damage Items" in order to avoid legal action. So, on my first day as a linen keeper, Mr. Azahir took me to the laundry and explained the process of washing all the linens sent to the laundry.</p></li><li><p>After returning to the linen keeper's office, Mr. Azahir taught me how to file all the linen records such as the amount of delivery and collection of all the linen from the laundry (pillow case, bed sheet, bath mat, hand towel, duvet cover and so on).</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>For starters, I was given a partner with a staff member to collect linen together. The linens collected from the maid's trolley must be counted first and recorded in the form so that there is no reduction in the collected linens.</p></li><li><p>There are 4 shifts for pick up linens which are 10am-11am, 12pm-1pm, 2pm-3pm and 4pm-5pm. Linens sent to the laundry only twice in one day.</p></li><li><p>After collecting all the linens on each floor, we will return to the linen keeper's office to separate all the linens and collect them in bundles before sending them to the laundry. Furthermore, each linen keeper will take two floors to collect linens.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

The weekend is the most tiring day where many linens need to be collected and need to be topped up in the store so that all linens are always sufficient.</p></li><li><p>Discarded linens also need to be recorded. After collecting the linens on each floor, we need to separate each type of linens so that they are not mixed with different linens or mixed with guest items.</p></li><li><p>After finishing the separation, the amount of linens collected should be recorded on the whiteboard and filled in the form on each shift. </p></li><li><p>Lastly, being a linen keeper is the most fun experience for me!</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>After finishing as a linen keeper, I was assigned to be a houseman for 5 days.</p></li><li><p>Being a houseman is a fun thing for me because I can learn all kinds of things. This incident happened when I was a houseman on the first day where a guest had hung his clothes on the sprinkler and the sprinkler broke. Although it is not my field, I and one of the supervisors (Mrs. Suzana) have been one of the witnesses to the incident.</p></li><li><p>Next, Mrs. Suzana and I contacted the executive, security, fire brigade, police force and team duty manager. Returning to my job position as a houseman, I and the houseman team did not hesitate to take the initiative so that the shower water does not flow in other guest rooms.</p></li><li><p>I took a thick wiping to cover the guest door and other houseman members vacuum the water. It is an unforgettable experience because not everyone gets to experience this.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Being an OLK is not an easy thing because the OLK needs to know what is happening in the hotel and the OLK also needs to interact with the front office if there is an incident. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>OLK also needs to contact maintenance if there is a defect in the hotel. </p></li><li><p>I have found out that the no show room is a guest room that should have checked in on that date but the guest did not check in until the next day. </p></li><li><p>My job as an OLK I need to ask the houseman for help in the morning to check the room whether there are still guests or not. Finally, if there are no guests and the room is still in good condition and clean, I need to inform the front office.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

Now and until the end of my internship I will be a floor supervisor. Being a supervisor is not an easy thing but it is a very heavy responsibility because the supervisor must always ensure that the room is clean and safe for use by guests without any complaints.</p></li><li><p>Every morning, all supervisors will gather to listen to a briefing that will be led by the morning supervisor and an executive. At that point, they will tell the issue that happened and what should be done from the issue. In addition, the morning supervisor will give a briefing on the number of guest arrivals, guest departures, last night occupied, today occupied, the number of preventive maintenance rooms, OTA &amp; VIP guests and so on.          <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>After I have completed all job positions as housekeeping, linen keeper, houseman and office linen keeper. Now and until the end of my internship I will be a floor supervisor. Being a supervisor is not an easy thing but it is a very heavy responsibility because the supervisor must always ensure that the room is clean and safe for use by guests without any complaints.</p></li><li><p>Every morning, all supervisors will gather to listen to a briefing that will be led by the morning supervisor and an executive. At that point, they will tell the issue that happened and what should be done from the issue. In addition, the morning supervisor will give a briefing on the number of guest arrivals, guest departures, last night occupied, today occupied, the number of preventive maintenance rooms, OTA &amp; VIP guests and so on. After everything is finished, only then will all the supervisors go to their respective floors to check the rooms before the arrival of guests and occupied rooms.</p></li><li><p>After that, after arriving at the floor, the supervisor needs to check the guest lift landing, emergency staircase and inside the store.          <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>After my off day, usually the supervisor will get the afternoon shift. </p></li><li><p>The afternoon shift tasks are very relaxed which is just signing the master key, recording the DND room and the maid needs to follow up asking the guest whether they want a makeup room or not, preparing a supervisor productivity report, hacking the room if there is a guest room that wants a makeup room and guest check out on the side evening and night. </p></li><li><p>Finally, make a VIP turn down if there are VIPs who check in.          <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Being a supervisor is not an easy thing but it is a very heavy responsibility because the supervisor must always ensure that the room is clean and safe for use by guests without any complaints.</p></li><li><p>Every morning, all supervisors will gather to listen to a briefing that will be led by the morning supervisor and an executive. At that point, they will tell the issue that happened and what should be done from the issue. In addition, the morning supervisor will give a briefing on the number of guest arrivals, guest departures, last night occupied, today occupied, the number of preventive maintenance rooms, OTA &amp; VIP guests and so on. After everything is finished, only then will all the supervisors go to their respective floors to check the rooms before the arrival of guests and occupied rooms.</p></li><li><p>After that, after arriving at the floor, the supervisor needs to check the guest lift landing, emergency staircase and inside the store. Next, the supervisor went to the maid to check their report that the room had been cleaned and tidied. </p></li><li><p>The supervisor also needs to inform in the Whatsapp Group if there is a defect on the floor. If the maintenance is not done within 30 minutes, the supervisor needs to call by herself to inform again.</p></li><li><p>Furthermore, after completing the room check, the supervisor needs to hack the room so that the system appear (VC and OC). Each supervisor needs to check 60 rooms in a day to achieve the productivity of each person.</p></li><li><p>Then, before going back the supervisor needs to sign the maid report, and the corridor job report. In addition, the supervisor also needs to fill in all the data in the form that has been prepared by the evening supervisor. Therefore, if there is a problem on the floor, the supervisor must immediately contact the executive like if have major defect (tiles broken, fan not function, door broken and so on).</p></li><li><p>Last but not least, for long-term guest supervisors need to inform the executive if the guest has and brings something that violates the rules such as electrical items.
