A: Well, they didn’t have a program when I started working at the VA, and I noticed they really needed one because detox was and still is the number one admitting diagnosis there.


Q: When the idea came to mind how much planning was done? What were some of the steps?


A: We worked with other staff on the structure of the program, and we went over policies and procedures, we also hired new staff.


Q: How did it feel when everything came together? Did all your hard work pay off?
