         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Built in 1067, Norwich Castle is one of the oldest castles still in existence in the United Kingdom. William the Conqueror built it after the Norman conquest of England. Like all castles built around the same time, Norwich Castle also served as a garrison and prisoner of war prison. The five most beautiful old castles in England remained, until the middle of the 12th century, the only major royal castle in East Anglia, until the construction of Orford Castle, which Norwich lost.</li><li>Beginning in 1894, the 900-year-old castle is used as a museum, displaying archaeological artifacts, works of art and other objects of significant historical value.</li></ul>]]></description>
