Things such as sports, clubs, and classes already have shown that they can work in person under the circumstances shown. And even though that the pandemic is still going on, vaccines and updated safety measures will also decrease the risk of getting the virus. Not to mention that students our age are one of the least likely groups to get covid. While our staff is at risk, there are safe alternatives that can still allow open schools to have teachers in them. I myself have gone inside the school and attended classes, and I can say that our school district has taken the utmost caution necessary to make in-person learning work and be safe. I also believe that the continuation of online schools would be detrimental to everyone's, including students, health. It causes me some emotional struggle to know that my friends are meeting up, and I know I wouldn't be able to go. But it still feels nice to be invited. But if keeping my distance around 6 feet and sanitizing myself a lot will lower the spread, than I will make that sacrifice to be able to come back to in-person school.
