The role that Robert LaSalle played in the settlement of Louisiana was discoverer. His role was a discover because he founded the Mississippi RIver or the "Great River" and followed it down to its mouth. When he got to the mouth he claimed it for France and named it Lousiana in the honor of King Louis lV. LaSalle wanted to claim as much land for France as possible to make a trade route that connected French territory to the Canadian Fur Trade. Though LaSalle had to use the resources of France to the expence, he did succeed in doing what he had set out to do, untill he was betrayed and killed by his men for causing them so much misery..

The role LaSalle played in the establishing and settlement of Louisiana was critical. LaSalle found Louisiana by mistake, while looking for a trade route to connect with France. He and his distressed men, established Fort St.Louis as a base. After LaSalle went broke , he returned to France to ask King Louis for more funds, men and resources to claim the land for France. After being given this, he got lost and many of the passengers died from disease , weather, and starvation. Having had enough of LaSalle , the men banded together and killed him. Further on in history, the Louisiana purchase was made and the 13 colonies claimed the land.

The role that LaSalle played in the establishment of the Louisiana colony is that he went through so much just to get killed in the end, by just putting trust in the people that were left to survive. He had to keep asking the king for things and he wasn't even getting all he needed, just enough to survive or try to survive the huge waves of Mississippi or mystery things that popped up. He also put his life in danger because the people he thought he could trust which was the ones left that still had fight in them, killed him because they thought well enough is enough he is not giving us what we want so lets get together and kill him.

The role that LaSalle played in the establishment and settlement of the Louisiana Colony was that it was a long and hard journey to succeed in what he dreamed. He did find some great things. He found the "Great River." He founded Louisiana. He was however, VERY unlucky. He went back to France for more supplies and money but then misses his destination. He loses so many ships, men, and supplies. Then his luck was the absolute worst when his men killed him. In my opinion I understand why they killed him. He was not that great and lucky. But, he was their leader. They basically made things worse by killing him, they died too! From starvation, and sickness. In the end NO ONE was really that lucky.

The role that La Salle played was very important. La Salle was a french explorer. Robert left France in search of a trade route to connect France with Canada claimed Louisiana for France in 1682. La Salle landed near the great lakes and went down the "Great River". The great river is the Mississippi river. Along the way la Salle found many new areas, explored them and built forts. He built alot of forts for his men. La Salle always failed, he returned to france many times to get supplies, ships, and men. La Salle named it Louisiana because of King Louis the 14. If La Salle wouldn't have claimed this as the french area, Louisiana wouldn't have been discovered to a later date or most likely have a Spanish culture, La Salle could have done more things for this state. To bad La Salle couldn't keep going, for he was shot by his own men and left to die and be eaten by wild animals.
