         <description><![CDATA[<p>a 1985 fantasy children's picture book written and illustrated by American author <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Van_Allsburg">Chris Van Allsburg</a>.</p><p>Van Allsburg won the annual <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caldecott_Medal">Caldecott Medal</a> for illustration of an American children's picture book in 1986, his second after <em>Jumanji</em>.</p><p><br/></p><p>This could be used during the holiday season for a Christmas themed lesson or a lesson on trains and the way that they operate. Students could even make a railroad map of their town to add to the polar express's train stops.</p>]]></description>
