Please follow the CBI criteria. Remember CBI must be linked to the student's IEP, students are assigned quarterly to a volunteer site for repeated practice, parents are given a weekly student CBI schedule. If last-minute changes are made to the schedule, you must contact the parent for verbal permission to go off campus. Parents must know what days, times, locations, staffing, and transportation to CBI locations.

Quarterly Student CBI Schedule

Each quarter students should be assigned a weekly location where they will volunteer for an entire quarter. This needs to be consistent for an entire quarter. Please put a master schedule on your board with students' names and locations along with completing the student form which will be shared with parents. If a change needs to occur in the master schedule communicate with the parents on the day of the change for verbal permission to participate.

Students will choose a word of the day and apply that word in the community at a volunteer site or CBI activity. The staff assigned to CBI will reinforce the word of the day by making positive statements using the vocabulary word as an example for the student. When students return to school, they are reminded of how they used the word of the day, and will then create a sentence of how they applied the word in the community.
