It's not a conventional portrait but there is no rule saying you can't have more than one person in the portrait. Both of them are not looking at the camera as they are engrossed in the moment and each other. It's a beautiful sight. Her hair is good contrast against the background. Another interesting thing is that we see some of her teeth but she's not smiling. The photographer also took the picture in such a way that we just see her face and neck which is intriguing. It wasn't supposed to be one but it turned out that way. I found him interesting so I asked him if i could take a picture, surprisingly he agreed. This photo was taken as his store. Originally, I didn't find the picture so great but then when I got home and edited it was when I fell in love with it. I played around with the colors for a bit but when they didn't seem appealing I converted the picture into black and white. That in  my opinion, made it 100 times better. I especially liked how the background was unique but not distracting. The thing that I  love the most about this picture is that glint of light in his eyes. If I were to improve, I would maybe make the pose a little more interesting and try to have some of his characteristics show in this picture. I like how I only captured the side of the face because it's a little different from a conventional portrait. I also like how my subject is not smiling because that is really what it makes it informal as I caught her expression during the moment. When I was editing I blurred the background because it drew away from the main subject. I didn't edit much for this photo but just added some finishing touches to make her stand out but kept it as natural as I could. I thought what I did well was I took the photo in a way that it's interesting to the viewer and captured some aspects of her personality. I could improve on blurring the background in the camera itself does it look more natural and softer. Or I could have a background that is not distracting.
