Write a brief summary of your reading.

The first 20 or so pages of this biography consists of a prologue, “Muse of Fire”, which details the status of the world in the time when Musk was born, the first chapter, “adventurers”, which describes Musk’s parents and the story of how they met, and the beginning of chapter two, “A Mind of His Own”, where we finally dive into the beginning of Elon’s life.

Write down a quote from your book that really stood out to you. What is the significance of that quote to the book, and what it means to you?

“To anyone I’ve offended, I just want to say, I reinvented electric cars and I’m sending people to Mars in a rocket ship. Did you think I was also going to be a chill, normal dude?”

This quote comes in before the book starts, and I think it was a great choice to prepare the readers for whats to come next. Elon really isn’t a normal guy, and therefore, this won’t be a relaxing biography.

In my opinion, this quote attempts to shed light that it’s okay to be yourself. Elon being one of the most influential people in the world, he is not afraid to “be weird”, even if it sparks up controversy from time to time.

To whom would you recommend this book? Why?

I would recommend this book straight of the bat to anyone who is willing to sit through and read a biography. Reading about someone’s life is definitely not for everyone, and I agree, can be very boring and time wasting. This book I’d consider an exception. Elon is one of the most successful and controversial humans on Earth. He has revolutionized industries. I personally only started to read this book because I was interested in SpaceX and the road to becoming an aerospace engineer. The amount of life lessons I could take away from that as a kid who wants to pursue a career in that field is endless.

1) Write a brief summery: Max is now living and teaching at Columbia University. One day, she is almost kidnapped again and her friend from CMI Siobhan shows up. She asks Max for help because her village in Ireland is being hit with s mysterious illness. They escape the Corp and head to Ireland. Two other teammates, Klause and Tisa join them and they help decontaminate the water from sheep poop. While they are celebrating, Dr. Zimm and his new AI Lenard find them and try to convince Max to go with them. She rejects them, of corse and they escape. Max and Klause go to india to help solve the water crisis in the village that is Vihaan, another member of the team's ancesteral home. Siobhan and Tisa stay behind to finish sealing and cleaning the well. In India, the team discovers that greedy bottled water sellers are profiting off of the water crisis.

2) Write down a quote that really stood out to you: "Max saw a banner written in English: "If there is water, there is a tomorrow" And if there wasn't? Max didn't want to think about a world with no tomorrows...Max thought about all the water fountains she'd taken for granted. Just step up, push a button, and drink. What if she had to wait in line for hours to do it?" I like this quote because it shows how empathetic Max is and because it forces the reader to think about all the things they might take for granted.

3) What was the conflict?: CMI is trying to make the world a better place but the Corp only cares about money. Given the chance to be part of CMI if it was real I definitely would rise to the challenge to fight the Corp.

For example at the top left box, it shows a picture of Kun and Sakura chatting with another friend, while at the right top box, it only shows Sakura and Kun chatting. Then, according to the text supporting the image, I can quickly find out the sequence of those pictures.

9/20/2024

Write a brief summary of what you read.

Sakura was very interested in Kun and kept asking about him. She wanted to be close friends with Kun, so she tried every means to get close to Kun. Like working in the library with Kun and also creating chances where they will meet. However, Kun still don't want to social to much. So Kun asked Sakura why she is putting so much time on him rather than enjoying rest of her life. Sakura replies that she don't know when will that day come but she will cherish everyday she lives. After than, they become friends. She then learns that Kun was diagnosed with amnesia (Both of them have some kind of physical or mental problems).

What do you predict will happen in your book?

I expected that there would be some kind of conflict in the story. For example, Kun may have conflicts with his classmates because he have become close friend with Sakura who are so popular.

To whom would you recommend this book?

Everyone that like Manga. I will rate it 4.5 out of 5. It is starting to become interesting. Now we learns about both of the main characters in the story. The theme of the story kinds of appear: Cherish moment as they happen will not only help you feel thankful for life, but also help you to have a more positive and happy outlook. Nowadays, many people may want to give up their lives due to academic or work pressure. And by reading this manga and understanding the examples of tragic characters in the story, readers will cherish life more and enjoy every second of the moment.

10/3/2024

Write a brief summary of what you read

Their relationship is getting better and better. They traveled to various places, took all kinds of beautiful photos, and enjoyed all sorts of delicious food. At night, they checked into a hotel, played poker, chatted together, and had a great time. After the trip, they both returned to their normal lives. A few days later, Kun went to Sakura's house to play games and chat with her. In the end, Kun had a dispute with a senior who had a crush on Sakura. The senior pushed Kun to the ground and asked him why Sakura liked being with him, but Kun said nothing. When Sakura discovered this scene, she pushed the senior away and expressed her feelings for Kun. Later, they both confirmed their feelings for each other.

What do you predict will happen in your book?

I predict that Sakura is going to die. She's been hospitalized more and more frequently.

What is the conflict? What would you do if you faced the same conflict?

The conflict in this scene occurs when the senior pushes Kun to the ground. If I faced the same conflict, I would not fight back, but rather try to communicate. I would also seek help from someone, such as a teacher or faculty member, if it happened on campus.

10/24/2024

Write a brief summary of what you read

They quickly determined their feelings for each other and became boyfriend and girlfriend. In the process, they also redeemed each other. Kun found someone to talk to, and Sakura found an important person in her life. Sakura's condition has also improved, and the number of hospitalizations has decreased. But the good times didn't last long. One day when Kun asked Sakura on a date at a coffee shop, Sakura was stabbed to death by a robber. Later, at the funeral, the whole class went, except Kun. He felt scared and hopeless. At last, he went to Sakura's house and got Sakura's note book from her mother that recorded all the things they did together.

What is a major theme of your story? What is another story that has the same theme? What is similar and different between these stories?

I think the major theme in my story is how the two characters help each other and redeem one another. Another manga, Angels of Death, also explores similar themes of mutual support. Specifically, in Angels of Death, Zack transforms from a heartless person who loved killing into someone with emotions, while Rachel evolves from a person who only wanted to die and had no hope into someone who wants to survive. Their problems are somewhat different compared to the manga I am currently reading.

What is the conflict? What would you do if you faced the same conflict?

I think the main conflict in this part is between Kun and himself. After the climax, when Sakura died because of the robber, Kun fell into deep self-blame. He didn’t know how to face others and struggled for a long time. It felt like he had returned to his previous lonely life. But in the end, Kun took that step forward. He went to Sakura’s house and got her diary. If I faced a similar conflict within myself, I believe I would also take a step forward.

What would you do if you faced the same conflict?

The conflict so far in this book is that Frank (the main character) has racist parents. Franks Parents are very racist and constantly say slurs towards Chinese people. His parents only respect other Korean families and Korean people. Because his parents only like people who are Korean Frank is worried he will never be able to date or have a relationship with his dream girl who is white. Frank is also worried because his sister Hannah was disowned by his parents because she decided to marry a black man. In his family his parents believe that if you marry a Korean Person everything will be "easier", (same language, same race, same traditions)

What do you predict will happen next in your book? Why?

Something I predict will happen next in the book is Frank will have a secret relationship with the girl he likes but she is white and not tell his parents. Additionally I think that Frank will have a fake relationship with a Korean girl to cover up his secret relationship with the white girl.

What role does the setting play in your story?

the setting plays a big role in the story so far because The place that frank and his family live is in a predominately white area. If the setting was different there would not be these gatherings. for example if they lived in a neighborhood with predominately Korean people their would not be these special gatherings.
