         <title>Least Sophisticated - Traditional Algorithm, it requires rote memorization from students, they don’t necessarily understand what they are doing when they are multiplying – just simply following the procedure/steps, this also does not support students with mental math skills as the numbers get higher it becomes more difficult to do in your head</title>

         <title>Equal Groups: This strategy I think is very effective when first introducing multiplication as it allows students to grasp what they are being asked to do; however, students need to eventually move away from this strategy as this is only feasible for small numbers. </title>

         <title>Window Strategy: I was first introduced to this strategy this year in my Grade 6 placement, I had a student on an IEP for math and one area she really struggled in was multiplication. The special education teacher taught her the window strategy; it was first supportive of her learning because it helped her to break down the numbers, especially since in Grade 6 they were working with larger numbers. </title>

         <title>Most Sophisticated – Using Friendly Numbers: This strategy allows students to do multiplication in their head, which is very beneficial to students learning, and can be applied to real world skills. It is important to be able to have some sense of mental math skills, when needed they are able to solve or have a close estimate to the answer. With friendly numbers students need to also keep track of what groups they have added or taken away when rounding.</title>
