• Students will investigate shadows and how they change throughout the day.

2. Maths

This week

• Students completed Unit 4 Statistics.

• They were able to identify the differences between a Carroll diagram and a tally chart.

• All children completed their own research, collecting data for their tally charts.

Next week

• Next week, we will begin our next unit of working with numbers to 100.

• Students will learn how to add tens and ones with 2-digit numbers.

• They will count on and count back in ones, twos, fives or tens, starting from any number (from 0 to 100).

• Additionally, estimate, add and subtract whole numbers with up to two digits (no regrouping of ones or tens).

3. Science

This week

• This week, students completed their scientific investigation.

• They used the taught skills to twist, bend, stretch, squash different materials, identifying which forces are used.

• They also identified which forces change the shape, direction and speed of an object.

• They recorded their results in a table and compared their answers with peers.

Next week

• Next week, students wil participate in another Scientific investigation, observing the way a seed grows.

• This will be part of their revision for the End of Semester test.

4. GP

This week

• Students continued with Challenge 2 - Family Matters.

• Students dicsussed the similarities and differences between themselves and a child in another country and completed a worksheet.

Next week

• Students will continue with Challenge 2 - Family Matters.
