Personally I think some people nowadays might still have a conception of the education as it was many years ago, throught the years I have learned that education is something valuable to have and it should be a right to have education, I think that is very unfair that education, especially her in colombia, is a priviledge and no a right. I also think that education is very important regarding to the type of society we want to build in the future and specially the role we want to have in it. This is why I don´t ever want to be another brick in the wall, and I hope no one does, since each one of us is gifted with so many talents that will complent the wrold in wich we live in just to be just another brick in the wall.

By saying "I need no education" Pink Floyd's message can be very misleading for people who have no clue in being openminded and critical thinkers. Nobody needs a type of education created on the solid rules of opression, limitation of aptitudesof the individual, and the abuse of power by the figures who represent it, in this case teachers, but it can also happen in terms of government and even if our household. Schools shouldn't be factories where duplicates are built, not in terms of looking the like each other but in thinking the same. This kind of education that is being portrayed by the video and the lyrics destroys in every possible way the developing of feelings, values, and conscious knowledge on ourselves and the surrounding; it becomes the so famous wall which this band has been warning us for so long not to be part of .
People say education is the best weapon, but what many people don't see is that it is a double-edged weapon because what you give is what you will get. When you build up subjugated students, then subjugated citizens it's what you get. When you percieve that power is the finest way of survival, then you can predict the outcome.
To finish, I'll answer the first questions. Who am I and what Kind of person am I? Not sure yet, just someone happy for being openminded and having a critical thinking. What kind of education do you want?Surely not one that builds this kind of walls.

The walls limit, the limits blindI think the purpose of Roger Waters when writting this song was not to demerit education as a right and need for human development. On the contrary, i find it very satirical against the system that believed (or believes) learning must be an imposition of controlling and not understoon information; becoming another brick on the walls we create to "protect" and hide ourselves. Being "another brick on the wall" doesnt mean being ordinary, or boring. It consists of making sure to cover, distort, and bury very well the true and organic beings we all are. In other words, contributing to distance ourselves from ourselves.
The walls limit, the limits blind

I think we all have different ideas of education, some of us always follow the rules because we are scared to show who we really are, we are scared of being judged and some of us break the paradigm. In school I have experienced that if you are different you get judged and they try to make you change to fit in with others. This is why I don't consider myself another brick in the wall, because I have proven myself that being judged and brought down by someone else doesn't define you and if you are good at those things the only opinion that matters is yours. Obviously we need to be educated, but in previous years when I was smaller teachers didn't know how to motivate us and I didn't like learning. In other years I have met people who believe in their students and give them great times when it comes to learning. In my opinion this is the education we need, the only education that should exist.

I consider that eductation is necessary for learning basic concepts that will help us in our life, but the most important part of education is to develop critical thingking and the different abilities that in each person are different, in order to not be another brick in the wall. If everyone got to be a brick in the wall development and progress in the society will stop completely, because there wouldnt be anyone thinking out of the box and creating new things and solutions for daily life problems; and also everything will turn out to be very boring. Thats why I dont want to be another brick in the wall, but instead build my own unique wall that will contribute in the great building of society that is constantly changing.

I want to be able to think for myself and stand for my opinions and ideas; as well, I think education is really important for growth, personal development and also for being able to support your thought and beliefs. I want to have a kind of education in which I have the liberty to think beyond of what is standard and stablished, one in which I can have my perspective of life but still knowing the basics of it and how have we get there. I want to be part of this society, but not for what they want or need me to be for it to "work", but for my own self, knowing that there is so much more to be and to be done than the "ideal".

I do think education is important for building societies as it has contributed to massive events that have changed the world. However, the educational system should focus on the stregnths, likes and aptitudes each student has rather than focusing in memorizing things that won't contribute to what each person wants. I want to be a brick on a wall that includes different ideals, models and concepts that help with the progression of society, but I don't want to be in a wall in which opression and the violation of my rights are present.

In fact, I think people have misinterpreted the song because they haven't seen the movie or listened to the other 2 parts of the song that make up the whole story.

It is a very tough and critical analysis of the educational system. As well I share that perspective, I don't agree with the typical education we receive. We shouldn't be transformed into uniformed beings, each the same as the other. Sometimes school policies try to destroy our unique essence by define us into a grade, a number, a result. The truth is that every single person has different abilities that in many ways will surely contribute to our society. Schools and teachers should just encourage us to take action and to be more involved as global citizens without smashing our self confidence. Its important to be challenged as a student, to start asking what will you like to improve in the society, to develop your own principles and ideologies; but without a numerical judgement of the result, instead lets focus on the process it toked.

Education is fundamental for us so that we develop new skills. We would become more bricks in the wall without them, and wouldn't be able to advance and evolve. But in order to gain these skills, we need to be motivated to learn, which is possible by making education more fun for all of us. This can be achieved by not memorizing the information, but truly learning it and being inspired by it. If all of us learn this and are really inspired we could build a new wall, with more ideas, beliefs and cultures. That's a wall worth being part of.

I’m that kind of person who thinks kindness, love, and respect should be the base of everything because what makes us big and brilliant in life is the quality of human beings we are. No matter how much money or how much knowledge, what really matters and has true value is who we are in the deep of our hearts. That’s why I think a good education is that one that seeks to construct students who have big hearts, who are open minded, and who dream big without stepping on other’s. If it’s gonna be like that, of course I need education!!! However, if education is just going to make me weaker , and if it is going to control my mind by teaching me how to feel, what to like, and who I must be, then education is a waste of time. We need an education that first than all teaches we are not another brick in the wall!!

But at the same time I agree with the song because it represents how the educational system has been broken during the last decades and It is calling the world to star a change. However, as time passed education has changed and the things that were important before as years pass they became less important. There are many educational methods that include different ways to teach. And being another brick in the wall doesn´t help. In my opinion, nowadays the education system is not the best. Reminding always every person is a totally different world and that in society we need more people with values and moral education, who contribute to the growth of our society, more than people who memorize concepts who could be acquired in every moment of your life which you couldnt do with learning how to be a better person.

I think that at this moment we need to be more than just "ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL" and I think that although we may think that our education system have had a big change through the years well it doesn't have. Albert Einstein said “Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” so I think that if you want to be a genius the school needs to show us in what are abilities we have and we know we are good at it and then we just focused on them so we can work on them and developed so then we can apply our abilities to our daily life and little by little the world is going to change.

I think society has always been controlling since civilizations started and we got used to follow some type of rules and standards which suposedly make us better. Those standards are really valuable in terms of organization because they help to have more peace and control for everyone to learn the same things. But they also prevent us to think for ourselves and create our own rules, standards and forms of living. I think that we do need education but a more open minded one which could help us to be more critic, to learn things by heart and to understand the really important things such as discipline, respect, action, proactivity and creativity. I really don't think that I'm part of the wall. I have the bless to study at a school which clearly is conscious about the things we really need to learn, but I would love to learn more about the things I love and move me, rather than things that are not from my best interest.

I believe education is important when we are talking about how we want ourselves to relate with other people, learn about how to "survive" in the world and how to treat people. On the other hand, if we think about school education i think its just about learning basic things that everyone else knows so i guess thats really important too, otherwise you would never be able to have a conversation with anyone else or maybe think further about many situations because school also teaches us how to stand up for ourselves. Even though its important sometimes i feel the education system just doesn't understand that we need to learn more about our present and not about the past and maybe change the way of learning because if they keep trying to make us memorize things and just judge us because of the grade we got in a test no one is going to be successful then. But if it was not for the education i have received i feel that i would probably not be how i am today and we would all be part of a wall.

I also believe that I am a person who is interested in being informed about what is happening in the world and in my surroundings, since I don't like to think that the problems in the world are other people's, and not mine (one can always help in something, even if it is very small).
On the other hand, I believe that for the new generations a stimulating education is needed, where interesting tools for students are used. I also feel that it is important to do activities that have to do with common interests of the students, like some bands or recurrent themes. Additionally, I consider it relevant that teachers care about their students, and that they make it clear to them that more than a teacher, they are a support for us.
Finally, I would not like to be just another brick in the wall, because, for me, that would mean that I am not making a difference in the world. It is important that young people take action on the problems that exist, so that they can bring about good change.

But what if there is another way to be that someone? what if all we are doing is constructing a wall and each one of us is another brick in there? I dont know im confused.

I think that before someone start educating anybody first they need to learn how to do it so the students really learn something, other way the students could feel that they aren't learning something, or that the knowledge that they're receiving isn't useful, and this could lead them to do things like copying on exams. I also believe that schools and parents shouldn't put a lot of importance in grades, because this lead students to just study because they have to and not because they want to, also this make them believe that they are a grade and that they're a failure if they are not doing good in class when they are better at something else. All this just make students believe that it doesn't matter if they are better at other things because some classes are more important than other ones, and this lead to make them feel like they need to be another brick in the wall.

I believe education is a very important part in our lives and in the development of any child anywhere. Personally in my life I have gone through ups and downs with it sometimes finding it necessary others not so much but in general although I dont always love it I understand its importance and the great role it has taken in my life. What I do believe is wrong is outdated systems of education such as the ones shown in the video where teachers harrass students and the school system just puts them into a wall of unimportance and "equality". I fear being just another brick in the wall and im glad my school boosts my individuality and creativity so I can stand not as a block of concrete but as a building in a diverse and interesting city.

I think being another brick in the wall its quite subjective since each of these bricks is different, with different thoughts, orientations, and beliefs and it does not mean that it is wrong but each one contributes to the society that we are creating. Although there are several types of bricks, it is necessary to know what type of brick we want to be, if we are an obscure person who is not contributing and in my opinion supporting the conservative or if we are one who really wants to fight for a better future, for our world, being more openminded to opinions and decisions that others make. Likewise i think that education is subjective, it depends on the way in which you decide to see it and in the way you decide to apply it, lookinf for good or evil. You can decide between many sujects such as math o science or art nd theather but make sure that every action you are makingits contributing to make this world better.
