One of his major ideas was that human beings were basically good by nature, but were corrupted by historical events that made the civil society. Another one of his ideas was political philosophy. He published the book The Social Contract and it was all about political philosophy. Both of those works were about his ideas on how the government should do this or that,

He influenced many other people's books like Immanuel Kant's work with ethics. He did many great things and influenced how the government understood the citizens they were ruling.

Rousseau was the least academic of all the influential people. He studied in a village called Bosey, but left because he thought his instructor, in engraving, was violent and tyrannical. Once in Paris, he learned how to be a musician and composer.

Jean- Jacques Rousseau was born on June 28th, 1712 in Geneva, Switzerland. His mother died a few days after and his brother left when he was still a child. He was mainly brought up by his father who was a clock maker. One day his father got into a quarrel and fearing imprisonment, so he fled and left his only son to his Uncle. Rousseau and his cousin went to study at a village called Bosey. He met a woman named Louis de Waren and the two fell in love. They had five children which they left at a Paris orphanage.

His death happened because of his paranoia and trying to justify his works, which is seen in his later books. After all this had happened, Rousseau died on July 2nd, 1778. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest influential people of the eighteenth century.

His first major philosophical work was A Discourse on the Science and Arts. This one was a major hit and he won an Academy for it. His second book was The Discourse on the Origin of Inequality. It didn't do as well as the first, but was still widely read and insured his place as an intellectual figure. He then wrote his work on philosophy of education, The Emile, and the political philosophy, Social Contract. This works caused him to flee to Switzerland and he continued to justify his life. This became apparent in some of his later books like The Confessions, The Reveries of Solitary Walker, and Rousseau: Judge of Jean- Jacques. He wrote many other books that I have not mentioned, but it would go on forever if I had.
