• Was there anything you were worried about before the performance, and why?

When it comes to performing im usually quite confident, but my biggest worry is keeping up with my bandmates and or slowing down. My biggest ick when performing is stuttering, its happened a few times outwith college and even in this performance.

• What were you confident about before the performance, and why?

My singing. My singing slaps. But nothing else.

• What do you feel went well during the performance?

Nothing much i was disappointed after it because i knew i could have done better.

• What could have gone better?

Personally it would have been great if my band could have opened there genres a little bit to cater for some of the non rock songs i enjoy. Maybe a we could have had a drummer also, that would have helped with the beat.

• What would you do differently next time?

Probably pick different songs.

In this project we were required to create a theme track for Halloween.

In this short demo I tried to achieve the Michael Myers’s impression so the demo fits anything to do with him. I feel I achieved this by adding multiple keyboards with different effects plus adding some drums which give the whole demo a “scary feel”.

I think this went well because it enabled me to source new instrument patches for my future projects. And it also helped me gain a more knowledgable understanding of beats, instrumentals and formatting.

I think this went well, even though I have over already covered it but again next time I feel like I could add more beats and more brass instruments.

This task I learned how to compose more instruments. I also gain more of an understanding for the patches available to Disposal.

I feel this went well but I could have added more cinematic, drums, and keys. ALOT more keys

A good Christmas song needs to have Christmas themed instruments, the texture of Christmas has been built over many years, so it’s fitting to add bells, choirs and maybe drums. I have added t(see things to hopefully add to the hook of the song.

Evaluation.

This is a mashup of instruments I thought worked, I allowed my creativity lead this project. I scrolled through different instruments to find the golden flakes that may or may not work in this comp. I feel it went well, but next year il make a 

Christmas song with words and maybe spend more time on comp (my usual time for a comp is at least 8+ hours.

My improvements and for my next performance are as followed:

• get better at stage presence with commentary in between songs.

• Gain more knowledge of my songs I.e chord progression, vocal techniques and lyrics.

What I achieved:

• I personally believe I performed an honest performance, and even though I had my issues with sleep deprivation and sinus infection I still managed to get up on stage and perform.

• Producing forever to almost complete. ( a few things like recording lyrics, adding and changing some of the background instruments, and mastering came after the show. Even then it could have been better after but in hindsight I made it in six hours and I managed to to make it sound bearable and enjoyable to myself.)

What I done well:

In this song I feel the lyrics flow nicely and the words have meaning and the song as a whole insp nice as rounded.

The backing track wasn’t a complete failure but with my limited equipment I managed to create a vibe for the song that feels country maybe? But none the less I am proud of it

What I could have done better:

in this song the equipment I used to eq, compress and adjust could have been better adjusted finer to my unique taste, but this is something I have improved on since November of 2025.

Out of what I’ve produced this is a solid 7/10 for me. Also this song reached 50 views in a week on Spotify.

In terms of what went well and what could be better it be the exact same as I don’t really need to know. But in this song the vocals are actually fairly equalised for a beginner.

It can’t be too “vibey” at the start.

I called off, I get these night time sesh buzzes once every so often. It needs released or I won’t do any work on songs.

Tear me apart is a song I’m maybe progressing, I wrote part of it the produced part of it to try get a feel of how it would sound produced so I have added that also. I will add another too called “ooooo mama” that’s not the name just it was a song I produced before writing.

I’ve figured out the progression and style of the song, plus’s ive mixed the daw to almost perfect, keys and guitar are almost done. And then the progression goes to the rest of the song.

Idk what else I’ve done, mixing the DAW idk.

My evaluation.

This song means allot to me, Lewis Capaldi has been an inspiration to myself, he has also been somewhat of an unknown teacher. Whilst singing his songs I also try learn his vocal techniques and I feel I have achieved this in some sort of way. Including his vibrato, key climbing, rag-dolling my vocals ect (even though that isn’t heard in this song) my only issue is that I didn’t perform it on guitar, I really should have and I wish I did, but given the song is played originally on keys it seemed fitting to play the piano for this song. Although the composition on piano matters I feel my acapella abilities in this song were high grade and professional. Even though when I tried hitting my falsetto notes I had a little whoops and boxed out. But regardless this song has been practiced a barrel full of times, and it will be the song that helps/has helped me learn to go higher And punchier than I could before.

I am not pitch perfect in this song but that’s just from my point of view. I am also not Lewis Capaldi.
