Old Major, the farm's prize boar, was dying. Before his death, he wanted to inspire the farm animals to start a rebellion and rise up from Farmer Jones. After the Old Boar's death, the animals fought the Jones's out of their house, mourned the loss of some of their comrades, and explored all of what was now theirs. They changed the name of the farm from "Manor Farm" to the contemporary "Animal Farm". As the smartest of the species, the pigs made themselves the unspoken leaders of the group, and two pigs, Napoleon and Snowball, were constantly fighting over who would be the farm's leader. During a debate to introduce electricity to the farm, Napoleon eliminates his competition by sending attack dogs at
Snowball, scaring him away from the farm forever. Napoleon then introduced the idea of a windmill that could help reduce work on the farm. Using his power and his comrade Squealer, Napoleon manipulated the farm for the pigs' well being. After the windmill was destroyed by Jones and his men, hard work and determination guides them to rebuild it. After a horse's sad death, the smartest animals started to suspect that they are being scammed by the pigs. The pigs soon announce that they are now alliances of the neighboring farms. On a light night, there was a crash in the farmhouse that woke the animals, and they went to investigate. Inside, a large table topped with cards was surrounded by the pigs and the farmers. Soon after a toast, the pigs' faces change, and it is impossible to tell whether they are human or pig.

The picture below shows two pigs unraveling and scroll on which the front says "ANIMALISM". Two pigs follow behind them rolling the scroll up again. On the back it reads "CORRUPTION". What this symbolizes is that whatever government that has stemmed from a rebellion will never prevail because the new leaders will become corrupt from their new power. In Animal Farm, after throwing out Jones, the pigs take over the farm and ultimately abuse their power to live in luxury.

I believe that the Animal Farm's governing system was a grand corruption because the pigs used money, power, and the animals to better themselves, all the while leaving the other animals in poverty and famine.

This is an example of a leader changing a story to make himself sound better. Many politicians do this to create a person connection to their followers which gets them more votes. The more votes they receive the more likely they will be elected. Boxer did not really say this (he was not a true follower of Napoleon, but he did not dislike him either), nor was Squealer at his bedside. The pigs sent Boxer to the Slaughter House so that they could have enough money

The American Revolution was a colonial time period in which the new America fought Britain for their independence. The Thirteen Colonies argued that "taxation without representation" took place, meaning that they were made to pay money without having a say in whether or not they should or how much it would be. Many protests took place after the Boston massacre, and talk of a revolution took place between the colonists. After 7 years, the Thirteen Colonies finally pulled away from Great Britain, and had won their independence. The new America now had their own government, and has come to be known as the United States of America.

The American Revolution and Animal Farm are similar in many ways. In both, a group under rule are sick of being ruled unfairly by a governing force all whilst not getting a say in their future nor conditions. Both groups broke free of their unfair leader and became a new government to govern themselves. They renamed their land, distributed conditions and work, and created a system to elect new leaders and meet at meetings. Some could say that in both pigs take over the new government and run as politicians to rule, and they change stories and events to make themselves look better.

The waters are icy, they have very thin clothing, and some are close to death, but they keep going. Soon they will make a surprise attack on a British Camp on Christmas Day.
