Sam Smiths "Lay Me Down" has a sad tone and is slow paced. The sad tone is an element of the media along with the lyrics such as "I don"t want to be here if I cant be with you" creates a heartbroken emotion. The heartbroken feeling portrayed by this song relates to Romeo's emotions. Romeo loves Juliet deeply and doesn't want to live without her this is similar to the feelings created by this song.

Romeo's character emotions heavily influence the actions he takes. His deep emotions and love for Juliet cause him to take drastic action that forwards the plot. Throughout the play Romeo's emotions changed greatly. In the begging of the story Romeo was heartbroken because Rosaline doesn't love him back. During the middle of the play Romeo falls in love with Juliet but he eventually becomes heartbroken again after he gets banished for murdering Tybalt, because he is banished he can no longer see his wife, Juliet. Romeo goes through an emotional roller coaster of being heartbroken and falling in love and yet again being heartbroken. Romeo falling in love with Juliet causes him to fell heartbroken enough with Juliet's "death" to commit suicide. This leads to after Juliet's awakening the sight of Romeos Death caused her to kill herself. Romeo's actions have great consequences for him and others. Romeo can help us learn that before you take drastic action you must think your decisions through thoroughly.
