Subject: A documentary that talks about the main issue that has occured to students which is affirmative action in college admissions.

Audience: Asian-American population throughout America and those who are concerned with these situations.

This documentary was created for the audience to know about the incident that happened to Asian-American individuals as they applied for schools such as University of North Carolina, Harvard University, etc. They faced opposition because they used race as a way for them to determine if they are qualified for school and their future careers. As these years go by, they have been fighting and begging for equality rights for a very long time. Even those who had good grades, great GPA, great academic records and tremendous effort of work are still denied because of their race. School systems should be changed and they should be more open to accept any applications from any student, no matter what color. Many families have been going on major debates whether they should act on this message so that the message could be heard to the public out there. This message helps the public and the school government system to take initative action to make the school systems more relaxed towards the student's race to have more better reputation for their schools.

Taking affirmative action helps to promote diversity and to limit discrimination towards the race of the student. Many people considered that Asian-Americans are overrepresented that most schools think that they're too good. Because of this situation, many individuals have debated and addressed this issue in courts so many times. This important debate will raise equality and awareness to schools in order to have their schools an open environment for all races.

Subject: A story that talks about the rights of Asian Americans as they go apply for their dream school but as they faced with opposition and tension, many schools wonder if they should have a right to take affirmative action.

Audience: The majority of the Asian American population

Context: Current situation about people should take affirmative action to help that lead to an argument that is considered controversial. Claiming that taking affirmative action can harm people instead of changing it in order to make it better.

Summary: Asian-Americans wanted to make colleges to change their college admission policy laws. However, some argue that can lead them to underrepresent themselves but they can help promote and raise diversity. Many students made a file to the State Bar of California to prove that they're eligible by showing good grades, test scores and great academic level and well being. Many schools
that racial diversity will help students to be exposed to new and unfamiliar cultural perspectives that will help them to show respect towards those individuals as they prepare themselves to see what's important out there.

Subject: A video that talks about the major problems about college admissions nowadays and how it was solved.

Audience: Students around the world; especially those who are in the U.S

Context: Current situations such as wealthy families want their child to attend high prestigious universities and how it affects the public college system.

Summary:

Scandals situations have occured by wealthy parents having their children to take the easy way out in order to enter high tier colleges such as cheating, plagarizing, etc. Many wealthy students cheat their SAT's, ACT's and other standardized tests as their way to be considered for admission which led to investigations to see if they cheat and bribe the school system illegally.

Activity:
Research about the percentage of how many students illegally got admitted to colleges and share it as a project maybe like a slideshow.

Hey Jason,

I think it is very important that the opportunities are equal for everyone to be accepted into a college, not one ethnicity over another. For college admissions to do this successfully they must have their admission requirements available to the public and any students that meet those admission requirements will be eligible to go to that college. The tricky part is if many students meet those requirements and there are not enough spots available for every student. In this scenario again, I think it is very important that opportunities are equal for everyone and there is not one particular group of people favored.

Hey Jason,

After doing research, I found an article that states in 2019 there were more than 30 parents charged with facilitating fraud and paying a combined $25 M in bribes to get their children into elite schools. This whole scandal drew in Hollywood stars, hedge fund millionaires, and athletic coaches. The difficult part in battling this issue is how powerful money is in the world we live in. Whoever is in charge of admissions finds that the money is worth the risk of being unfair to others. To solve this these colleges need to hire reliable people to run these departments truthfully and with honor. As well as having an oversight on the work that they do for admissions.

After researching how many students get early admissions, I found an article that states in 2022 it was less than 5% that were admitted through early decision as freshman. I think it is very interesting the admissions process straight out of high school. As a transfer student however, I know that admission rates are much higher than as a high school transfer to a 4 year. I think that junior colleges are a great idea for students that do not have their mind completely made up on what to major in. On the other hand if your leaving high school and very certain on what school you would like to attend for a specific career I think those students should be accepted early. For myself, I did not know what I wanted to do after high school which is why I chose the military.
