I got a high score mainly because I've done a very significant amount of travelling via airplane to France, and from France to Portugal, then back again a week later. Also I went to Punta Cana twice last year. On top of that, we also drive an SUV, and have a well sized house with my mom and our two cats. When it comes to trying to reduce our footprint, in some cases it is difficult. I also think it has to do with the fact that I have not travelled as much recently as a usually due, thus translating to this being a better year for my ecological footprint than most. That being said, it is still far beyond the ecological footprint that is ideal and I think that in order to take the right steps to improvement, I will start composting. I am technically "just shy" of the average. We would need 3 whole planets if everyone lived the way I do. Sure wakes me up to the level of privilege we have in Canada. Hopefully this can allow me to try and be better by cutting down on perhaps smaller things that add up to a big lifestyle change like walking rather than driving places I want to go.

But to make up for it i grow my own food, compost always and rarely eat at fast food restaurants.
