I want to do this job because I want to help and to support pupils in their schooling. To become a school counsellor you have to have a contest after I graduate from my master. In my opinion the covid have a negative effect on the student. I think so because the pandemic has increased inequalities and exacerbated the pre-existing educational crisis. Moreover, the pandemic caused a lack of the personal relationships. So there was an impact on the learning and on the mental health. For example there were the symptoms like depression or anxiety. 
To finish, I observed that the pandemic develop a smartphone addiction.

I was a cashier back then, it was a hard time but at least I could go out and see people, otherwise I would remain at home with my mother, my brother and a friend of mine I was helping.
It was a hard time as there was nothing we could do, and the next quarantines felt horrible as we, students, were the only ones who had to remain home whereas everybody else could do whatever pleased them. We couldn't see anybody, nor hang out with friends, all we could do was following lessons on Zoom, staying in front of our screens without real human contact... Really tough times.

Je m’appelle Nicole et je vais à l’université américaine en Bulgarie. Je suis bulgare, j’ai 19 ans et j’habite à Sofia. J’ai choisi cette université parce que je voudrais aller étudier et vivre à l’étranger un jour et cette université, elle combine l’étranger et la Bulgarie d’une manière très intéressant et c’est pourquoi je l’ai choisie. Moi, je suis allée au lycée français et grâce à cela, j’ai trouvé ma passion – les langues étrangers ! J’aime beaucoup étudier des langues et découvrir ainsi dеs cultures différentes. Mais surtout, je m’intéresse à l’étymologie des mots des langues romanes et je voudrais bien m’adonner à cela dans un certain moment dans ma vie. Pourtant, je pense à faire une majeure de business et un minor des langues étrangers. En plus, j’adore voyager, écouter de la musique, rencontrer des gens différents et passer du temps avec mon chien. À mon avis, le santé mental et le niveau scolaire avaient très affécté pendant le confinement. La chose qui était le plus difficile pour moi c'était l'impossibilité d'aller dehors et de socialiser avec des gens. Je me souviens que j'ai ressenti la tristesse et j'étais très anxieuse, comme Amandine a dit. D'autre part, le processus éducatif était très mauvais - je ne me souviens beacoup de ma vie scolaire dans cette période à cause de l'éducation en ligne. Il n'y avait rien de contrôle du côté de professeurs et on pouvait faire tous ce qu'on voulait, parce que ce n'était pas obligatoire d'avoir nos caméras allumé. Mes professeurs étaient  très désorganisé et démotivé et pour cet raison j'ai perdu mon motivation aussi. Les lessons qu'on devait étudier n'étaient pas interessant parce que quand on est devant un écran pour 3-4 heures, on perd la concetration. Quand on a rétourné à l'école c'était le plus grand bonheur, parce qu'on pouvait contacter avec les gens en réalité et aussi c'était plus facile d'étudier car l'environment nous permettait de concentrer. Selon mon expérience personnelle l’impact du COVID était le plus grave sur la santé mentale et cela a provoqué des problèmes dans l’éducation aussi. Pour moi c’était une telle choque de ne pas pouvoir sortir de ma maison et de n’avoir pas du contact réel avec le monde. Cela m'a fait me sentir un peu fermée et je n'ai pas pu faire assez attention à l'école parce que j’éprouvais des sentiments mauvais tout le temps. J’ai observé que le même s’est passé avec mes amis. En plus il était très difficile pour certains professeurs de changer leur manière d’enseignement et je pense que beaucoup des leçons étaient mal compris pour cette raison. La plupart de la classe ne faisaient pas d’attention ou simplement refusait de participer aux cours et certains d’élèves devaient travailler toutes seules tout le temps. 
D’autre part, le confinement n’était pas telle horrible car on avait beaucoup de temps à s’adonner à nos loisirs préférés. Moi, j’ai commencé à apprendre l’espagnol mais aussi j’avais assez de temps de prendre soin de mon chien et cela m’a plu beaucoup.

We were confined to our homes, it wasn't the easiest or most joyful time. But hey, at least I learned how to solve a Rubiks Cube and that's not so bad. But otherwise, it was indeed complicated to follow the lessons at a distance, the fact of doing everything in the same place, confined in a small apartment, made me go crazy. Between videoconference lessons, sleeping, the days were strangely similar. According to me, this period was one of the worst periods of my life because in the end I think it robbed me of months of student freedom. Do you agree with this?
