Because they don’t have a backbone, minibeasts tend to have other structures which support and protect them. Snails have shells, while many insects and spiders have an ‘exoskeleton’, which is a hard casing on their outside. There are over 25,000 minibeast species in Britain.

Bees are flying insects closely related to wasps and ants, known for their role in pollination and, in the case of the best-known bee species, the European honey bee, for producing honey and beeswax.

There are three types of bees in the hive – Queen, Worker and Drone. The queen may lay 600-800 or even 1,500 eggs each day during her 3 or 4 year lifetime. ... Honey bees fly at 15 miles per hour. Honey bees' wings stroke 11,400 times per minute, thus making their distinctive buzz.

When bees are on the flowers they suck all the pollen and when they are of the flowers some of the pollen comes out and they use the pollen to make honey.
