La policía también ha informado de que piensa suprimir las películas "decadentes", las drogas y el alcohol.

Las mujeres no pueden utilizar botas en lugar de pantalones largos y los pañuelos pequeños están prohibidos, ya que deben cubrir la cabeza y el cuello completamente.

Los sectores más conservadores presionan para que se imponga el código vestimenta islámico.

En los últimos seis meses, decenas de miles de mujeres han sido amonestadas o detenidas por llevar vestimentas inadecuadas.

Consiste en la Península Arábiga, que alberga países como Arabia Saudita, Yemen y Qatar. Se extiende hasta incluir a Turquía, una parte que se encuentra en Europa. El borde occidental generalmente se dibuja para incluir Egipto. Aunque Egipto también se considera que es una parte del continente africano, la cultura y la historia están tan ligados al mundo de Oriente Medio que Egipto se lo suele considerar como parte de Oriente Medio y África. El país más occidental es Irán, con países como Irak, Jordania e Israel en el medio y Egipto. Mucha gente piensa que Afganistán y Pakistán se encuentran en el Medio Oriente, pero esto es un error. Estos dos países son parte de Asia Central.

Es usado muchas veces para demostrar orgullo por la identidad árabe.
– El thawb o thobe o suriyah: Túnica larga y ancha que llega hasta los tobillos, en verano es blanca y de algodón y en invierno es oscura y de lana.

En el caso del atuendo femenino, se da mas variedad en función del estilo de la mujer, el país donde vive, y sus preferencias.
Cabe destacar que el Islam rechaza la utilización del cuerpo desnudo de la mujer como objeto-mercancía, por otro lado, el Hiyáb (velo) no impide que la mujer cumpla su papel dentro de la sociedad, pero sí obstaculiza los intentos de los inmorales que sólo valoran a la mujer por sus encantos físicos.
