         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hewan Franchi gave a detailed talk on the research capabilities WGSN has especially for a fashion buying student like myself. The site provides detailed reports on future trends within the market and retail reports of how current trends or particular garments are selling. For a buyer this is essential research as they need to provide range plans for brands with items/trends that consumers will want to purchase. The run through of the website showed me all of the tools I could use for future uni projects or even to create my own range plan just for fun. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>WGSN is a great resource for many fashion students. Frequently, work I have done for previous projects has been led by my own personal opinion or taste on trends or garments. However having really explored the website it has taught me that I can use data to back up points as to why I may think a certain trend will or won't be successful with justification, not just my personal opinion. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Brand owner Jake Hall hosted an evening to talk to a small audience about his own personal journey of developing and running his fashion brand Prevu Studio. He detailed the highs and lows and gave an honest reality of what being a small fashion brand in todays world is like. It was really eye opening to hear how hard it could be and how there are so many aspects that go into having your own brand that a lot of people wouldn't ever even consider. It was also a great opportunity to mix with industry professionals and gain contacts and other tips for the industry.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Having listened to the talk by Jake Hall and looking into different accounts of starting a fashion business it has taught me that some things are not as simple as some articles make it out to be. There are articles online giving you simple 10 step points to creating a brand when in reality there are many different obstacles that occur and different pathways to take. The highlight of this research is understanding that often talking to people in person and getting real life advice/accounts are more insightful then a generic step by step guide you can find online. Personalised research is key!</div>]]></description>

Interviews, zoom calls or emails with people could give me more honest or even more accurate information.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After listening to the talk and exploring the Mintel website it has taught me just how important it is to get an insight of consumer research. You may have an idea oh what a particular audience may like but without actually having data to suggest how or why then that idea will always be risky. You can make an informed desicion if you have relevant data to support the reasoning for your idea. Mintel has also made me think that more brands should hold events or focus groups with consumers to gain specific insights about the brand and use this data to reflect and inform their future business.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I could use the Mintel reports to support ideas for my uni projects; why I think consumers will like certain garments, where they are most likely to it from and who is going to buy it. It is hard to get consumer research as an individual as most of the people you reach out to are likely to be friends or family and they will probably all have similar behaviours or attitudes just based on the fact that they all come from similar lifestyles. Using data from Mintel, you can be reassured that a range of consumers, with all different backgrounds, are contributing. </div>]]></description>
