The 1st book starts out on Halloween night when Cole and his friends are going to a haunted house but once they get there a strange man lures them to a basement where they are whisked away to the between land of the Five Kingdoms. Where their are all kinds of creatures of good and evil. They also figure out that their are countless amazing things like shaping that they could never do before.
