The New England colonies are usually faced with bitter cold, long winters and mild, short summers, but due to the cold winters, there was less disease than in warmer colonies. The New England colonies consisted of mountains covered in trees, rivers, and poor soil that mostly consisted of rocks, making it difficult to farm and unusable to grow crops, but they are close to the ocean. Their natural resources were fish, whales, and forests.

We accept any and all people that follow the Word of God and wish to be free from the Anglican Church. We have many people willing to show you around the villages and towns you are going to stay in, as well as tell you how things work around here if need be. We hold many Puritans and Pilgrims, and, if you want religious freedom, we have it in Rhode Island if you so choose! We also have our own functioning systems of government, unique to each Colony!

New England towns were mostly along the coast because the soil available was too poor for farming so they relied on fishing, whaling, shipbuilding, and logging. The fish they caught included cod, mackerel, herring, halibut, hake, bass, and sturgeon. From the whales, they would collect whale oil to be used in the making of lamps. The New England colonies got so rich that they were able to buy slaves from West Africa in return for rum and sold the slaves to the West Indies in return for molasses.
In terms of religion, most of the colonies consisted of Puritans, Pilgrims that wanted to leave Old England for religious freedom, and, ironically, created strict rules that persecuted all other religions. Rhode Island was a unique colony as it had religious freedom for all religions as the founder, Roger Williams, didn't agree with Puritan ideals and believed differently.
