Nelson Mandela
Date: October 2, 2018
Genre:(#7) Non- Fiction/ Diverse mirror for African Americans * Coretta Scott King Award
Review: It was interesting talked about when he was growing up. It also talked about Mandela fight for South Africa . It was sad to know that he was put in jail for over twenty-seven and a half years. For just believing in his people and not wanting them separated because of their color. It is shocking just to see what our ancestors had to go through.
Age:4-8 yrs old.
Audience: It is a story for anyone who wants to know what Nelson Mandela went through growing up as a child . As well as the struggles and pains he endured as an adult and having half his life taken away because of something he believed in.

Anne Frank's Chestnut Tree
Date: October 2, 2018
Genre: (#9)Non-Fiction
Review: It was a interesting book that talked about someone who lived a decent life at one point. Only to have it taken away from her instantly when World War II happened. Because she was Jewish an Adolf Hitler didn't like Jewish people. It talked about a journal she kept of her experiences and thoughts. It was sad though because she didn't make it pass her 16 birthday. Her journal helped her to live on and to tell what happened during her experiences during World War II.
Age: 8-10 yrs. old
Audience: For children to learn about what happen to another child. To see through her eyes of some of the things that happened in World War II when she was growing up. Also the struggles her and her parents in endured.
