One thing that surprised me about English-speaking cultures, especially in the U.S. and the UK, is how individualism is so important. People are encouraged to express their opinions, follow their dreams, and make their own path in life. In my culture, we also support personal goals, but family decisions and expectations are often more important.

A tradition that really stood out to me was Thanksgiving in the U.S. We don’t celebrate that in my country, but we have something similar when families gather for special meals on national holidays. The idea of showing gratitude reminded me of how we value respect and togetherness in our culture too.

Through this activity, I realized that even though cultures can seem very different, we often care about the same values: family, respect, and community. I also learned that I enjoy reflecting on these topics, and I want to keep learning about other cultures in the future.
