It was September of 2021 when I was given a chance to meet a wonderful human being. But never did I know that a simple meet-up would be a beautiful encounter. THANK YOU po Ma'am Awee for everything you have taught us from the very first day of our class of the First Semester. You taught us not only things in our lesson plan but also lessons that we could use in our life while facing the real world.

As I enroll in PLMUN, I have a lot of questions, like as whether the teachers there are as good as those I had in Manila. Are they knowledgeable enough for me to quickly grasp those teaching techniques and skills?
Surprisingly, they are better than good; I encountered the best and most exceptional professor in the field of education instruction.
I gained a lot of knowledge about the use of technology in teaching and measuring student learning throughout this brief period of time.
Additionally, away from the subject. I can always chat with you, Ma'am Awee, if I need advice or suggestions. Despite the personality contrasts between us, I respect the way you interact with your students.

Your advice to avoid letting your beauty seduce them is admirable. I appreciate how you lift my spirits and encourage me to try things I previously believed I couldn't.

- dahil sa course na ito, na realize ko po kung gaano ka fulfilling tumulong sa ibang taong nangangailangan tapos na satisfy at nasayahan din sila <333

The professor
- ang sarap po magklase kay ma'am kasi very welcoming sa lahat ng opinions. free flowing ang klase at mas nakaka encourage magsalita sa klase <33

The output
- nakaka amaze ang bawat grupo kasi lahat po kita na pinag effortan, sobrang nag research, at nagpuyat HAHHHA. nakakatuwa po kasi kahit di naman ako yung recipient ng mga prototype nila, pero alam ko pong makakatulong din sakin.

The class
- nakakatuwa po kasi parang hindi po kami namahinga ng 2 years sa f2f kasi ang huhusay po mag present. sobrang enthusiastic po na hindi mababakas kung gaano ka pagod ang bawat isa. Masaya po ang atmosphere ng klase at napaka nostalgic. Nakakatuwa rin po kasi for once na feel ko po uli na normal ang lahat. parang nawala po sa isip ko na nasa pandemya pa rin tayo.

Dati umiiyak pa po ako kasi wala yung pangalan ko sa list ng VE interview passers nung class po natin sa Ethics tapos ngayon, 3rd year na po ako. Malapit na.

That time, you asked me po why I was crying. The rest is history.

Basta ang memorable po na sinabi niyo sa akin that time,
"Galingan mo ha?" and yung next line ay sort of "make me proud" (di ko na po maalala pero ganyan po XD) tapos lalo po akong na-motivate mag-excel lalo na sa major na ito.

I know this won't be the last time that you will be my teacher. You're always a part of who I am today and who I will be in the future as a Values Education teacher. We may not meet in classes anymore but I will always carry your teachings and advocacies with me. Thank you for being an inspiration and one of the hopes I cling to as I take on my journey toward being a Values Education teacher. I look forward to seeing you in the field. Love you, Ma'am!

OUTPUT
Doing this prototype is not linear; it is cyclical. We went to the drawing board several times. Although the process was really stressful, it was all replenished by the positive feedback of the participants and evaluators. The participants learned from our output while we, the developers, gained something big from the process. First attempts are not always perfect. Revisions are inevitable if we want to improve.

CLASS
There is no word that can describe how proud I am of BVE 3-11 Batch 2021-23. This term was really stressful due to major requirements along with thesis writing but we survived the prototype development and presentation. We often say "basta makapasa na lang. bahala na" but end up giving our best shot in every task we do and accomplish. I believe #VEstSection

COURSE
Design Thinking and Innovation for Service Learning allowed me to extend my skills and knowledge to a wider community and put it into good use. Through this course, I am able to make use of my prior experience in Transformative Education and even transform it into something concrete Overall, it was fun and challenging!

Aside from looking forward to your FB Posts where I look for some OOTD inspos, I appreciate how we always look forward to Mondays. To be with you at every beginning of the week since the start of our Junior Year is something significant.

Thank you for teaching us to trust the process, for making us feel like we are appreciated, and for constantly believing that behind these tired and exhausted students are future teachers that could make a huge difference someday.

Our Course
Even when I was in High School, I love doing activities that I know will serve other people. Our course gave us the opportunity to do so once again. It has taught us to be empathetic and to validate the feelings and struggles of others. It has also made me realize that as a part of a bigger community, we can do a lot of things.

Our Output
It was such a milestone for us to develop this amazing project. We never thought that our collaborative interests will come up with a product that will be beneficial for a huge number of people who share the same feelings as us. This prototype made me realize that when you put yourself in the shoes of others, you will be able to make an unquestionable difference.

To my five-man team - Andrea, Pau, Marj, and Bridge,
As cliche as it may sound but you are my favorite group ever. Thank you for all the efforts, the funny moments, the trying times, and for sharing a significant part of yourselves with me. I will always look up to all of you as someone who is not just intellectually smart but also people whom I know were there even outside our academic responsibilities. Thank you for bringing back the sanity in me! I appreciate all of you.

Job well done would be an understatement for how our efforts, sleepless nights, and skipped meals paid off. I love how we always do our best in everything that we do. Thank you, Professor Awee for your unending guidance sa pagbuo ng aming website. Mahirap man po sa una, pero we can say that all our efforts have paid off and we could not have done it without your recommendations and encouragements. Aside from the technical skills that we learned throughout the process of creating our prototype, we also learned values na surely, magagamit po namin even in our future profession.

The course really helped me to further understand the importance of applying our skills and knowledge in addressing the needs of the community. Sobrang natuwa rin po ako sa design thinking process lalo na po during our empathize phase dahil mas nakilala namin yung mga target users namin at talagang designed po ang prototype namin para sa kanila. Thank you for being there throughout the process. It was a solid experience and fun experience. You are always there to guide and cheer us from the beginning. It is an honor and a great opportunity to learn from you.

Yung palagi ka pong available for consultation ang isa sa pinakang naa-appreciate ko po dahil dito mas nalalaman namin yung mga dapat pang ma-improve kahit na alam namin na for sure wala na naman kaming tulog but it was all worth it po <3 Lalo na po nung presentation na ng prototype. Nakakatuwa po yung reaksyon na nakita namin mula sa inyo at sa aming kaklase.

All the hard work paid off. For me it was truly fulfilling when we presented what we worked hard for this project. Nakakataba po ng puso knowing rin po na na-utilize ng classmates namin yung site na ibinahagi namin at nagamit pa ng ilan sa demo teaching <33

This course made me realize that we cannot just design whatever we want because we should consider the steps and the community. At first, it may seem impossible but as long as we are on the right track and process, nothing will hinder us from succeeding.

P.S. I really liked the book A Whole New Mind by Daniel H. Pink. It was empowering and gave us new perspectives on how we can be creative in our own ways. Thank you for this ma'am!

Thank you so much po for all the life lessons that you’ve shared to us every time we meet synchronously. Gusto ko lang po sabihin na kaabang-abang po lagi yung mga linyang bibitawan mo tuwing patapos na po ang klase. Also, thank you po sa guidance, sa feedbacks, at sa affirmations po na natanggap namin sa course na ito. All I can say po is malaking blessing na kayo po ang naging professor namin sa mga course na tinuro mo po samin specifically sa transformative education and lalo na po itong huli which is design thinking kasi hindi ko po ma-imagine kung iba po ang nagturo nito sa amin.

Thank you so much po sa guidance!! Sa lahat po ng insights and advice niyo po inside and outside the course. Sobrang laking tulong po nito sa amin bilang isang pre-service teacher. Sa mga interesting activities and final projects na nasusubok kami holistically, maraming salamat po. These experiences will remain and will serve as my foundation to grow.

Course

Malaking tulong po ang course na ito sa amin pre-service teacher dahil sa ganitong pagkakataon, lumulubog po kami sa lipunan kung saan natutuganan namin ang pangangailangan ng mga mag-aaral. Kasabay nito, mas nakikita namin nang mas malawak ang kalagayan ng edukasyon sa Pilipinas.

Output

Naging makabuluhan ang karanasan ko sa paggawa ng aming prototype. Bukod sa nagsasabay sabay ang mga gawain sa ibang subjects, nakatutuwang masubaybayan ang aming progress. Kahit nahihirapan, nagawa namin ang dapat naming gawin. Sa prototype na ito, hindi lang ang mga mag-aaral na nakuha namin ang natuto, kundi ay kami rin.

Groupmates

High Five, Best Five! Masaya akong kaming lima ang nakasama ko sa journey na ito. Marami na kaming napagdaanan at lahat ng iyon ay nalampasan namin nang sama sama.

Class

Sa buong 3-11, na nagsilbing ikalawang pamilya ko sa lumipas na dalawang taon. Ang tanging panalangin ko ay makatapos tayo nang sabay sabay bitbit ang daan daang kaalaman at karanasan. Mahal ko kayo!
