What Surprised you?
- consumption of microplastics - paucity of studies, impact of food consumption
- More information about reuse of single use plastics: supplementary reading - not much evidence outlining BPA as a potential health issue for children
- Impact of secondary exposures: intergenerational transfer of exposures/trauma

New/Key Learnings?
-bullying data: context of social media
- evidence of psychological differential susceptibilities
- the idea of differential susceptibility

Environmental news?
- Waste plastic exporters now require licence, exporters now have to show evidence of further processing of waste
- NSW bringing in single use plastics ban for 2022: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-06-13/nsw-will-phase-out-single-use-plastic-by-2025/100211588

Key Learnings for Week?
- Differential susceptibility
- Sometimes evidence base we intuitively think is there is not.

What surprised you?
- How much work is going on in respect of the week's topics
- Even once policy change is achieved, implementation is difficult (long road to change). Advances are encouraging but so far to go.
- Microplastics- what will happen in time?
- One ingredient may be produced in a different environment to others- how to regulate global context.

News items:
- Tainted pork burrito leads to 4 year ban for middle distance runner
- Oversanitisation due to COVID environment, impact on human microbes. Microbes are being impacted- viruses looking for alternate places to establish themselves- in time produce more viruses. How sure are we of the evidence of sanitisation. Reward of sanitation doesn't outweigh risk of diminished microbes.
