This quote introduces a recurring theme of Kathy seeing some kind of boundary or "line" on the horizon. This represents how Kathy is trapped by her environment, but she doesn't even realize it -- she doesn't realize what freedom is or how to achieve it. The book will end with a kind of "line" in the distance as well.

Whenever my dad is getting ready for work I get the nostalgic sensation and memory of when I threw my dad’s shoe in his soup in the morning while he was getting ready the worst part was I made him run for it for a while before I threw it and it has a positive impact on my life because it’s a funny yet very special memory I’ve always kept.

When I was younger me and my siblings and cousins would play with these dolls and seeing them be brought back to stores reminds me of my childhood this is a positive force because those were the old days 👦

I think tables 4 and 2 did really good. They has a lot of evidence and good line of reasoning and it was good. Very well said and very well done.

I believe all the groups did good shout out to all of them but shout out to table 4 because I understood their line of reasoning and there slides were cool, as well as table 1.

I think table 2 and 4 did a good job at presenting and providing good lines of reason and evaluation

2) All the tables did great but I think table 3 stood out the most because I understood their reasoning and evidence and made me change my perspective a little bit.

2.table 4 explained everything very well, and was able to tell everything about the article, without us having to read it ourselves

2). I still have the same perspective on nostalgia and i still feel it’s a good thing to have but not to always feel to nostalgia because it can also bring you down.

Table 4 did really good they weren’t overtime and all spoke clearly and at the audience also I understood everything they were saying.

2). I think table 4 did well, their slides were very neat and organized and I understood their evidence and line of reasoning and how they go hand in hand, it was well spoken and pleasantly visual.

I think all the tables did very good. But I would have to give my shout out to table 4. They had a very good line of reasoning and there slides didn’t have a lot of words. They also used the author’s purpose words well. They all kept eye contact with the room. They also did well with the evidence it was very well explained. They also all were projecting their voices, and all seemed to do an equal amount of talking. But all the tables did a great job.

After reading and presenting my editorial, I see how nostalgia could be viewed as a good thing but in my opinion, it comes with very powerful and negative impacts on people which makes nostalgia more negative than it is positive

I think everybody did good but I think group 4 had a better one in terms of reasoning.

Shoutout to table 3, I thought they explained there line of reasoning very clearly.

I thought this quote gives you a deeper understanding of how far the kids at hailsham push Tommy past his limits to lose his temper due to the getting picked on and the lack of respect his peers have for him

I thought this quote was interesting because it makes me wonder what happened to Hailsham. Does Kathy not know where Hailsham is? What had happened there that made her so eager to go back?

How are they different? What did they not know about themselves?

This quote explains how Tommy was not just acting the way he was because he wanted to, there were things that happened or effected his past that built up to him being the way he is.

This quote shows how at Hailsham the kids were made to depend on each other and work with each other. The quote also shows how the kids valued each other at Hailsham.

Kathy has a lot of cloudy memories but she does keep that memory clear when she pretended a pencil case was a gift from Ms. Geraldine. But it wasn’t and Ruth wanted to call Kathy out on that lie but didn’t because she didn’t want to ruin their friendship.

I agree that Ruth kind of stole Tommy from Kathy and that Ruth was making fun and kind of bulling Tommy. Ruth was in the wrong for believing that she could be with Tommy even know she was apart of the trauma that he induced in his childhood at Hailsham. I feel like Kathy is confused because Ruth hated Tommy and Kathy kind of told Ruth that she liked Tommy, but she proceeded to get with Tommy.

2. I disagreed with the fact that Ruth stole Tommy from Kathy because Kathy at the end was trying to get them back together. Although she was very supportive to Tommy, I think that she was trying to be there for him as a friend instead of being there as a girlfriend.

I agree about how the topic of sex in the book was realistic because nowadays that’s all teenagers want to do.

I agree how she said that Ruth might have thought she was talking tommy in the movie when she was holding the pillow. But when Madame was crying i think it is because she is sad that they are leaving and Didn’t want to lose them because she knows there faith.

I agree how she said that Ms.Lucy that wants to tell the kids what their life will be like after Hailsham. But the kids feel like they understand some of the things that will happen but dont have the full story. Or how the kids once they find out they don’t try to run away or get out of there.

Yes I agree Kathy is higher up in the standings and she can be more than just a donor or she is a gold one that’s why people wanna find out more about her .

Mis Lucy feels bad and she needs to tell them what it is really about and she wants the students to find out what they are really going to be

I agree that the students are not making a big deal about the idea of being donors, and not living long lives. They really just kind of brushed off what Miss Lucy had said to them. They might just not want to talk about it and live their best lives right now, or simply be brainwashed and think it’s normal.

I also agree with how they referred “You’ve been told and not told” with how high school teachers always bought up that college is the most important factor to your future. Teachers made it seem like if you didn’t plan on going to college you can just start getting ready to give your resume to McDonald’s. Buts that’s false news. There are plenty of entrepreneurs who didn’t go to college. Take Bill Gates and Steve Jobs for example. They both dropped out of college and are way more successful than any collage grad. They went on to build billion-dollar owned companies. There are plenty of business owners out there who didn’t go to college and now are really successful and living their best lives. So saying college is the only way to be successful is just not accurate.

I disagree with the fact that made me is considered the bad person because although all the kids thought they should be scared of her but they ended up realizing that madame herself was sort of scared of the kids. I know this because in the beginning chapters the text states that she wouldn’t even touch the kids and would just sit there until they passed by. The book also describes that the way she was scared was the way we would be scared of a spider.

I don’t know about the idea of the kids being obsessed with lost things like their organs. I think they want that item because it represents Hailsham and some of their childhood. They already don’t have much in their lives, so keeping a childhood tape for example, is a valuable object in their life.

I agree with how they said madame has a little soft spot because how she started crying after she saw Kathy holding a baby and singing never let me go.

I disagree with the fact that the teachers could just leave. An example of this is madame when she was crying. You can that she was probably crying because of these kids. But if she didn’t want the kids to be donors she could just leave her job but she doesn’t. I think this means that they are all held at hailsham and don’t get to leave because they know the “secret” of Hailsham.

She talked about how if the guardian got to pick of get put in there job. I was thinking that they might have been a donner who survived so they were hopeful the kids would to. So they never said anything because they believe that they will live again.

I agree with what he said about how the kids wouldn’t want to lose there guardians. I wouldn’t want to lose my parents and i feel like that the guardians were like the kids parents in a way. Because they raised them.

I disagree with the idea of the students rebelling against the guardians. They are completely brainwashed and don’t know what life is outside of Hailsham. They have no reason to rebel against the only adults that they have known their whole life.
