I believe my responsibility as a teacher is to be all things to all people. There may be times when my students need me to be their nurse, their counselor, and so much more. My job is to give voice to the children who have been silenced while showing them they are valued in my classroom. My main responsibility is to educate my student, but I want to go beyond that and build meaningful relationships with the children in my classroom.

I believe that learning should take place in the classroom every day. I believe that learning isn't just for the student , but for the teacher as well. I believe that learning should be fun and culturally relevant. Learning is gaining new knowledge that will be useful for students while at school and in the real word. Learning doesn't just happen in one way, so it should be taught freely in the classroom.

I believe the purpose of schooling is to give children the tools they need to reach their dreams. School should be a safe place where students come to be valued and learn about others. Schooling should prepare students to be productive members in society.

I believe that teaching is the most important job in the world. Teaching is guiding children to think on their own and giving them the tools to work through different problems. Teaching is listening and understanding your students to best carter to their individual needs. Teaching is a process that involves learning from your students as well as them learning from you. Teaching should be fun and always have a purpose.

I believe students learn best when they can play an active role in their own learning process. Students are a great tool to use in the classroom to make learning fun. Students learn best when the material they are learning is culturally relevant to them. Students learn best when teachers play a guiding role in the learning process and allow students to be hands on with their learning.

As a teacher I will give my student's a voice in our classroom and build a community among my students. Your family are the people who have the most influence on you for the first couple years of your life. A person's community is a part of them and affects who they are.

I believe collaboration is working together as a team. Collaborating with someone is doing something together with someone else to produce or create something together. I would love for collaboration to be apart of my classroom community with my students. I want my students to work well with their peers to do things in class. I also want to collaborate with my students to build classroom rules and expectations.
