They have spent the last two weeks at the front in constant battle. Out of a company of 150 men, only eight returned after a heavy attack on the last day.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Similarities:<br>* Most soldiers were younger, they were nine years of age and some of them were brutally killed during the war.<br>* Mr Kantorek was a fiercely patriotic man who persuaded many of Paul's friends to enlist as volunteers to prove their patriotism.<br>* Paul's feelings of love  and loyalty are those that he shares with his friends and fellow soldiers.<br>*There was no sufficient food to feed the soldiers who took part in the war.<br>*Paul was a student who used to write poetry before he became a soldier.</div>]]></description>
