In our school, most students don't have access to resources and below proficient in the grade level standards. Math proficiency is very low to be honest. :(

Students seem disengaged given all the expected grade level standards and gaps from their previous levels. "When everything is a priority, nothing becomes a priority."

Most students do not feel they can not meet the high expectation that I sent. As we go through the assignment together they start to feel they can meet them.

The findings about the students with mild to moderate disabilities are generally true but our team is doing the best that we can to innovate methods that would best cater to their needs.

My students are all at different levels, so I have to do differentiated instruction in class. Do reading at grade level, 3/4 students struggle. In math, proficiency is low across the board.

This is totally true to my students. Their perspectives and perceptions in Mathematics have shaped their behaviours and dealings with the subject.

Appropriate Grade-Level Instruction

Very commonly I have seen teachers teach below grade level standards or prematurely teaching standards because that is how we were taught instead of what the standard tells us to teach.

When we started this school year, most of my students were not proficient in the previous grade level. Most of those lessons are essential to master the current grade level standards. It is really a realization that we have to provide a STRONG INSTRUCTION with quality intervention to our students. -Mr. Mac

In my opinion, I feel like students need a bit more of encouragement to be interested in learning math. Less than half of my students are proficient but I am confident that the majority will be by the end of the year

I think one of the hardest things I did as a beginner teacher was expect that students should be engaged with the content. As I grew as a teacher, I learned more that I had a lot of power to engage students in the learning.

Teachers don't set those higher expectations for students. Especially coming out of the pandemic when students are so far behind.

Students feel they cannot meet the expectations. Math is so low and they do not engage with it.

Proficiency level in Mathematics is quite low as reflected in assessment results. There exists a big gap between grade level skills requirement and the students current math skills.

All findings were true. Most of my students are having a hard time in dealing with Math because it was introduced to them the wrong way. Teachers were focused on the quantity of lessons and standards being delivered in class not on the quality of learning that the students need.

Some students could not retain the materials. Repetition again of the lessons based on standards.

Most students have low scores in the tests they do not take this as their priorities.

Students need more support. Students lack basic math skills to attend the grade level standards

Knowing these findings, it prompts me to do what I can to help my students achieve what they're supposed to learn and give them opportunities to apply what they learn in real world situations.

The way we teach today is not supporting what students need in future career. Standard still stagnant to the old way we need make our students ready for a futuristic world to survive and find job to support them.

Students have different ways on how to learn and explore. Different resources and instructions are given to them. We give support as well like intervention.

A lot of students with IEPs lack motivation and confidence in themselves but with a more individualized approach in terms of monitoring their progress and having a good rapport and building trust with them, they have shown amazing progress in terms of academic performance.

It's so hard to set high expectations to my students especially if they are not engaged. Making sure that they master the prerequisite topics will help them more engaged and participative.

This findings are very true. I am dealing with this kind of students. But as a teacher we should not give up. We continue to learn and find ways to improve learning and giving to students the best.

Some of my students need more encouragement to be engaged because some of them are not interested in learning more. They need more encouragement and fun activities to be active in class

All students should have equal access to education. Most of my students are eager to learn when given more opportunities.

Considering student's uniqueness in my class I always integrate differentiated instructions to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
