Most significant factors holding back the development of financially successful and distinctive British films?

The most significant factors holding back the development of financially successful and distinctive British films are because the film is only running on 1 or 2 screens per week, this allows only a small amount of people to watch the film lowering the amount of money made during its run time, this film could have made more money if it was shown in more screens and for a longer period of time so more people watched it over time.

This tells us that films could be injecting ideas into the audiences without them knowing, leading them to make wrong decisions after watching certain types of films. In the film Dead mans shoes the director may inject negative messages to the audience making them think that killing the right way to take revenge on someone who may have hurt them the same way Richard was or in any other way, while the passive audience will watch the film without questioning it and look further into the film to gain knowledge on why or how the director has done what is in the film.

This might tell the audience while watching the film that Richard may be mentally ill as he is seen talking to Anthony who was dead at the time

The representation is created by showing the character taking revenge on the people who mistreated Anthony leading to his death, this was done by Richard being myserious so they didn't know who was the killer untl later it is revealed he is the killer. The narrative enigma in this film is partly in the name as it contains the word "shoes", this tells us that the masked man wants his victims to be in the same shoes as his brother who was killed by the drug dealers, he kills them and makes them suffer by making them fear him and expect their own death as everyone of that drug dealer group was dying one after another.
