Because this initiative required collaboration with students of different perspectives, it provided a wider insight of discrimination and choice of others, in addition to the ways in which young minds may address the problem. Primarily, we aimed to eradicate the misconceptions and to make people more aware about caste dicrimination through The Ekta Project - an initiative by my team. We worked towards creating a website consisting of an anonymous discussion forum in addition to addressing the various myths, preconceptions, and notions about caste that exist. I truly enhanced my collaborative and social skills in addition to globally engaging with the happenings of the world. Primarily helping with branding, website construction, and interviews, I had the opportunity to talk to several people with interesting backgrounds all united to tell their stories about the caste system. At the beginning of the Ekta Project, I had very limited knowledge about casteism in India. I can now proudly say that I am much more informed about this prevalent issue that pervades Indian society.
