On the concept of an application

So I've recently looked through applications listed and I could not be more disappointed. Obviously a lot of people do not know the purpose of what an application is supposed to represent. Mostly, I'm referring to those people who say that they're bored, they're friendly, etc etc etc. What's wrong with this is that it provides no solid measurable framework for evaluating a member. Everyone can say that they're friendly, or bored, or want to help, but how can one measure this. Likewise, everyone can say that they're good at building and at the same time live in a small wood shack. The thing with applications is that they need to be measurable and clear. Friendliness, boredom, building skill all cannot be measured without a certain variable degree of empirical experience, and therefore is not a reliable nor solid basis for an application. Thank you for listening to my rant.

Idea: End Portal

End portals are...surprisingly easy to find. I currently own 2 (/l spawn Endport, which is private, and /l spawn ender'sgate, which is public). I think an end portal be beneficial for advertising purposes as well as utility value. Thus, to maximize location utility, we should build the megamarket near or on a stronghold.

Hello members of the Dallas Project Team, today we have decided in order to get the role of Build Manager, you MUST win the Build-off Event. This event starts on January 13. (If you want, you can start building now to get a head start, but it officially starts on the 13th. And remember to send the screenshots by January 19th.)

The theme is a town, a small medieval-type town. It MUST be built in the Creative gamemode on ArchMC.

You must take screenshots of your town by January 18. The winner will be announced on January 19. Anyone in this project can join this event. The judges are me, and the board of directors. (TheImfamousGamer, html, and VoxelBreaker_)

The winner receives the role of Build Manager in the project. This is to show the skills of you guys and to see who is the best of the best. Happy building!

This was a close battle, as LDShadowLady has a GREAT build, but it wasn't as good as the insane medieval town YNus made. This was the greatest build I've seen in this event.

Hey gamers, I got some news, the reset is by February 7th or that week. I got a screenshot of Badministrator saying it, and its on the Arch forum for you guys to see. With that news, we only have a couple of weeks to plan out the megamarket design. I already have reference images, and our lead builder, YNus_1ick, is making a huge mall in creative currently, to see how we should make the shop. Indeed, we reached over 47 members helping, which is MORE than ENOUGH, as when we started this project in late December, our goal was 15.

Now that we have established members, it's time we start to layout the mall. I need you guys to get on the padlet daily as there is going to be more news now. I am currently working on blueprints, and I will be glad if anyone else could make blueprints/layouts, or please practice building a huge mall in creative, like our lead builder, YNus_1ick, is doing.
