Franklin Roosevelt was president through the Great Depression and World War 2. "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself"
This era was really important to the US because it brought a lot of jobs to industries and woman's rights became more popular.

FDR was a good man and wanted to create jobs for people. He said "The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little". FDR also passed the Civil Works Administration which created temporary jobs. FDR was also the president that passed the Gold Standard. This disallowed a dollar bill to be turned into gold. FDR also made the National Youth Administration which provided jobs for students in high school and college. FDR is the only president to be elected for four terms. He came up with several ideas on how to defeat Germany during WW2. "It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something". FDR helped out the farming industry by making the Agricultural Adjustment Administration. Overall, Franklin Roosevelt was a good President and led us through some tough times in the US.
