         <description><![CDATA[<div>- checks and balances are in place to make sure that no branch of the government is given too much power over the other branches, so we have a balanced system<br><br>the President can veto laws passed by congress <br>    &gt; the president has the power to veto any law passed by congress, if he disagrees or don't think it will be the best benefit to the american people<br><br>the judicial branch can declare laws made by legislative unconstitutional<br>    &gt; the judicial branch also has the power to over rule Congress if they determine that the law goes against the Consitution<br><br>the legislative branch can override presidential veto <br>      &gt; the legislative branch has the option to override a presidential veto with a 2/3 vote in each house of congress<br><br>- we also have many, many other checks and balances in place such as<br>    &gt; legislative branch approves presidential nominations<br>    &gt; the executive branch can declare executive orders if action is needed promptly</div>]]></description>
