In the picture below it is showing African Americans tied up in chains with barely any clothes. This is showing that the conditions they were put through and how they were treated which didn't meet the promises made of the Declaration and Constitution. A majority of the African American population were Slaves with very little freedom in the south where they had to do a lot of hard work which made up a large amount of the South's economy, this includes mainly cotton farming. African Americans had to obey their owners at all cost and if not could be sentence to death, they weren't allowed to read or write or basically learn anything and they weren't even considered humans, they were considered property where they were often sold in auctions. The Dred Scott case in 1857 is a popular case where Dred Scott was going against the Supreme Court fighting that African Americans should gain the rights to become free and become citizens but the Supreme Court ruled against him.

One of the most memorable speeches of it's time was, "Ain't I a Women", which showed the details of being a women during the early stages of America. In the speech she explains that women didn't have any rights and that men had control over them even though they were very independent with the jobs they had to do around the house. She believed that women should have the same rights as all the men do and instead of the constitution just stating all men are creating equal it should state all humans are created equal, but not just because they want the equal rights because she believed they had proven to everyone that they can do the same things that men can do.

This is a picture of Sojourner Truth who had the famous "Ain't I a Women" speech

The Trail of Tears has to be one of the most memorable moments for Native Americans. The Trail of Tears happened because President Andrew Jackson (who referred the to the Native's as an inferior race) ordered thousands of troops to clear out the Native American's and force them to move west so America can expand their land. Thousands of Native's lost their homes/land and sent west with very little belongings. They were forced to walk west without stopping and many of them would get sick or got too tired to move on so troops would beat them or kill them on the side of the trails to keep the people moving. President Jackson also referred to/thought of the Native's as a waste a space, that they didn't have a work ethic, weren't intelligent, and that they didn't have moral habits.

this is a picture of what historians believe the Trail of Tears

Two of the most important documents in American history are the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, which highlighted many points that are socially wrong. Thomas Jefferson wrote the phrase, "All men are created equal" which is a social viewpoint that left out a portion of the population. Before the Civil War occurred African Americans, Native Americans, and Women were all treated unfairly in terms that they couldn't follow three of the main American values; Equality, Liberty and Freedom.
