During and after highschool, William Chrisman is where he attended, he worked multiple jobs.He graduated in 1901. A timekeeper for a railroad construction company, and then as a clerk and a bookkeeper at two separate banks in Kansas City. Truman really took interest into music, he played the piano while pursuing a career as a concert pianist. In 1905, Truman joined the National Guard. In 1910, Truman began seeing/dating Bess Wallace, he had graduated high school with her. Bess refused a marriage proposal in 1911, but they continued their romance.He spent the next few years trying to earn a living as an owner and operator of a small mining company and as a partner in an oil business. With no success he rejoined his National Guard unit with the us on the verge of going into WWI.
