I value the idea of HOPE as a central concept and can see that as you work your questions down a little more, you could have a gem here. Your third question is the one that piques my interest the most, this idea of grappling with how hope seems to either survive or maybe even manifest is the most troubling of times. That might be the one to chase down the rabbit hole.

This set of questions is well worth pursuing. The one I value the most is that one that asks about silence and whether it makes you complicit. If you dig around in this one a little more, what might you find in these two texts that answers that question or at least tasks a stance on it. I would think that when you disappear into that muddle of thoughts, there might still be some further reshaping and thinking about what these texts are grappling with in relation to silence and what you might want to say about silence.

It is an interesting idea that you are grappling with, Katrien. It is a little bit challenging language-wise. What are other words that we could substitute for normal and normality? I am particularly interested in the last question you ask about whether the everyday, routine, "normal" things help people to survive. If you end up answering yes to that question, it might be the why is that so then that really gives you are writing focus.

Your last question here is the one that I found most compelling. There definitely is an exploration of how memory can be a means to escape but also how it can be a means to stay connected to the important things and people where people are adrift in a sea of inhumanity. Either way, it is depicted as an anchor to secure you in stormy weather moreso than keep you captive in the storm to the point of it sinking you? V interesting section at the end there.
