I think this stereotype of wives taking their husbands name is a bit of a double standard and I personally find alot of meaning in my name regarding myself, my culture, etc. so I would not want to do so when i were to get married. Personally, I feel like last names represent your culture, history, family, and your character. Throwing away your last name and taking someone else's would be like throwing apart of yourself away and forgetting all that represents you. Although society has become the most accepting it has been, women should still be mindful of their personal well-being, character and devotion to themselves vs to others.
