I think in order to keep libraries physical, AI should only be used for data analysis or calculation models at most. The overutilization of AI in a realm that inherently requires tangible mediums would either require a complete overhaul to digitize said mediums, or would negate a large number of employees that manage and care for these collections. Neither of these options, as has already been exemplified with corporations or entities integrating AI in an attempt to replace numerous careerists (artists, analysts, authors, scientists, the list goes on), is ideal; whether by unemploying dedicated experts, or pulling immense resources to manage and tailor the beast that AI has become. I think AI should be kept as a tool to be wielded by a professional, and not as a replacement for the professionals themselves.

Students get embarrassed/offended when they realize citations they've provided the librarian are hallucinations. In chat reference, about once a week.
