She has a Caucasian child on her back as if she was a horse. Also, you can see in the artwork that the African American woman has a cleaning brush near her hand as if she was trying to clean the floor while the child is on her back. The artwork is very similar to an actual photo (the photo on the left). This piece of artwork demonstrates how the African American community suffered from injustice for decades in America. In the image, it seems as if the slaves were afraid and looking out for people who would take them back to their masters.
