We learned a lot about the culture near the mountain. I was getting nerves because only about 20% of people make it to the top.

We talked with many people along the way and learned a lot. Some of the questions I had before I went to Mount Everest were, how did the mountain get its name and I figured it out, Waugh named it after George Everest because he helped survey the mountain.  I also learned a lot more about Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, they were the first to climb Mount Everest, for example Tenzing had already tried to summit.

After the ceremony we went into the ice fall. We also learned in 2011 they hauled out eight ton's of garbage, it was mostly stuff like oxygen tanks and they said if we didn't bring our stuff down we would lose four thousand dollars.
