I now have a much greater background knowledge of growth mindset concepts, how the idea grew and what the main characteristics are that make up this life style.

I also learned that it is something that adults and children all can benefit from and is not something that is just taught in two weeks - but it is a lifestyle change and is something that needs to be worked on and practiced constantly.

I gathered more information and teaching strwategies to help introduce and teach growth mindset. I know I need to teach about the brain, I know I need to teach about mistakes, as well as the power of yet, and what fixed vs. growth mindset looks, sounds and feels.

I gathered a huge bank of book ideas, video ideas, info graphics, as well as great ideas to share with families on tips for helping their children. I also gained the knowledge that I should be sharing this information more with families.

I learned that students need choice, movement, peer to peer teaching/feedback, wait time, struggle time, and challenging work to help me succeed with a growth mindset. Students also need to be able to know that mistakes are important and it means they are learning.

This course also solidified my belief in building relationships and a trusting community and how that impacts the ability to teach with a growth mindset.

I also learned the continued importance of wait time, and praising the process with my feedback

I learned the importance of wait time. I now have resources to share with parents and co-workers. I now view my assessments differently and will be allowing room to learn and grow. I have resources to refer to, and review as I grow in my practice of growth mindset. I can see the benefit of having students struggle, which was very hard for me. Building a safe place to make mistakes and building relationships with students will continue to be a primary focus for me. All that I learned in this course has shown me the benefits of doing so.
