Piggy suggest to Ralph that they build a new fire on the beach whilst many of the older boys leave to join Jacks group. Jack declares himself the cheif of the new tribe and they kill a sow, leaving the head as an offering to the beast. Jacks group steal fire from Ralphs group and invite them to their feast. The hunter group have no symbol to control who is to speak. Jack is emerging as their dictator and no-one challenges him or talks to him. The conch group still try to keep to the rule that only the person with the conch speaks at meetings.
2. The hunters are only really interested in the excitement of hunting, feasting and having fun. They give little thought to anything else. The conch group worry about the future and attempt to keep the fire going and establish a routine that will help their rescue.
3. The hunters have almost reverted to savagery; they carry fire hardened spears, are virtually naked and they hide behind their painted faces.
