Question 2: Based on the demonstration, in order for the color to change, what had to be taken out of the water?
Answer: Carbon dioxide had to be taken out of the test tubes solution when it was absorbed by the plant in order for the Elodea to go through photosynthesis. In this situation it was the Carbon Dioxide that was the reactant that mixed with the BTB and Water to create Glucose that the plant used for food and Oxygen that the plant released into the air. So it needed to absorb the C02 through osmosis, so it could go through photosynthesis.
