I don't feel that celebrating the landing or rather "invasion" should occur in schools as it is not culturally sensitive to indigenous people. If a school must feel the need to commemorate with a dress up day then they should balance this with a dress up of the realities to the people who inhabited the land and were subjected to genocide. Therefore I think going as an enslaved aboriginal is very appropriate as this would provide additional perspective. As a former high school history  I feel that it is the most important subject in school. If we don't learn our mistakes from the past then what future do we have.
