This concrete horse stand caught my eye due to it’s intricate details given that I feel not everyone has the patience to make such a product as it takes time and effort to carve in the details if it’s handmade but if it is something mass produced, it begs the question of how it’s made and what is used to make. It’s more then likely for it to have a mould but if so, how does it be removed from its mould and have the concrete not crumble.

This triangularized head shaped holder brings another form of intricacy and sparks more questions, like how does it get its shape? Given that some sides are protruding with no base to support when the product is being formed. Furthermore, the product looks very well polished and smooth, which begs the question, is it the materials itself that allows it to be so smooth or is it a product of sanding down till it is all smoothened out.

To me I think this is interesting because I imagine what the mould for this product is and how does one come up with it the first time, how did they get all the “feelers” to come out properly instead of sticking to the mould which to me is something that can easily happen no matter the material. Furthermore, this product is in a sense flexible yet rigid, it’s flexible enough to bend and curve to fit the size or shape of ones hand but rigid enough to withstand force/ pressure that allows it to not “crumble” which makes me very interested in the actual material properties.

This concrete light is interesting because it represents the property of concrete well, and this is why it is so different from other light we see in IKEA or any light shop. The texture of the concrete gives a very natural feeling that can not be hand-crafted. Due to the bad translucency of the concrete wall, which reflects and concentrates all the light from bulb downwards. Secondly, there is a faultage between the upper and lower section of the concrete light. The concrete is purposely knocked out to show the structure of the light and allowed more light rays to pass through. When it is lighted up creates an abstract shadow that gives a mysterious feeling.

I think this is interesting because its straightforward, minimalistic and functional. I like how they made use of the concrete's resistance to fire and make a table out of it. The finishing of this concrete fire pit looks really smooth and clean. I find that satisfying because I would normally think that concrete is rough and porous looking. It seems like a stage for the fire and I think it would bring marshmallow roasting to another level.

Since the concrete is not glossy, it is very effortless to create irregular forms, which have a similar feeling of rock. Thus, this candle holder is very interesting, when it comes to forms that follow the spirit. The concrete is designed into the shape of half a mountain, but what's another half is formed with a candle. When the wax melts, it looks like the snow covers the mountain.

I find this design interesting as it looks very appealing with its small cute size and various colors. What makes this very unique as it helps solve a daily problem that some people face, the fact that some people would lose their bottle caps anywhere very easily. With this silicone product, since it is stretchable, can fit into any size bottle without any faults.

This piece of design is interesting to me as even though it looks like an ordinary straw with different colors , it has a hidden message behind it. Since there are already so many campaigns that showcase that there is a need to save plastic straws, silicone straws are made to prevent even more wastage of plastic materials and processes that harm the ocean, as well as it being able to be reused.

Once the concrete drys, the balloon can be removed making the inside hollow.
