Especially musical terms like closeness and density. I didn't realize the amount of terms and what all went along with music. I thought music was just music. I didn't realize more went into it. But, I really liked this book and the way Ratliff described each concept. He made the book interesting and educational and opened me up to new songs. I sometimes listen to songs differently. I listen for the concepts mentioned in the book to see whether a song has it or not. The only thing I found problematic is the fact that its opinion based book.
